Gu Jie Ling was innocently recommended to Gu Jie Ling by her husband's friend, purchased from a traditional medicine store in Johor Bahru. After consuming the supplement, she experienced the distressing side effect of 'moon face,' a characteristic sign of Cushing syndrome. The HSA has flagged concerns over the authenticity of the product, as it bears an invalid Malaysian registration number, suggesting potentially illegal distribution and usage.
Gu Jie Ling was recommended by her husband's friend, who had bought it from a "traditional medicine shop" in Johor Bahru.
