2024 Lamborghini Revuelto: What We Know So Far (Car and Driver)

Lamborghini combines a high-revving V-12 engine with three electric motors to create the 1001-hp 2024 Revuelto plug-in hybrid.

The Revuelto is unlike other Lambos in that much of its interface is digital. [Murcielago](https://www.caranddriver.com/lamborghini/murcielago) with the hips of a [Diablo](https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a15139938/2001-lamborghini-diablo-vt-60-road-test-review/). We haven't tested a Revuelto yet, but Lamborghini claims it can reach 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed in excess of 217 mph. There are four rotors on the steering wheel that control drive modes, and additional buttons activate the turn signals as well as initiate the launch control. The scissor doors and wedge shape come from the [Countach](https://www.caranddriver.com/lamborghini/countach). That's also the most horsepower from any plug-in hybrid, knocking the 986-hp

Lamborghini Revuelto: the first super sports V12 hybrid HPEV (TheNewsMarket)

In the marque's 60th anniversary year, Automobili Lamborghini presents Revuelto, the first super sports V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance ...

The new steering wheel design is inspired by the interaction with the steering wheel of a Squadra Corse race car, providing the feeling of a pilot. The pinnacle of dynamism and power output, in terms of both performance and sound, is reached in Corsa, the driving mode designed to highlight the Revuelto’s dynamic capabilities on the track. In addition, the two NACA ducts located in front of the rear wheels collect flow from the underbody and direct it to the rear brake cooling duct. This capability is also enhanced by the increased stiffness of the anti-roll bars (+11% at the front and +50% at the rear), and by the reduced steering ratio (-10% compared to the Aventador Ultimae): an approach already successfully tested on the Huracán STO The car features an unprecedented layout: a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 mid-engine, three electric motors, two of which are located on the front e-axle and one integrated into the new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, arranged for the first time behind the combustion engine and transversely to the V12. The air intake ducts to the cylinders have been re-engineered to increase the supply of air and guarantee optimal airflow in the combustion chamber. With the Revuelto, Lamborghini launches a new Space Race, ushering in a design language that adapts to the challenges imposed by electrification, and presaging the shapes and proportions of super sports cars of the near future. Located above the gearbox, this electric motor doubles as the starter motor and generator, as well as supplying energy to the front electric motors via the battery in the transmission tunnel. Revuelto introduces the “swipe” function in a Lamborghini, allowing the pilot and co-pilot to move applications and information from the central display to the side displays with the same intuitive, gestural ease as using a smartphone. “Revuelto takes a significant step forward in terms of reactivity and responsiveness to ensure the most emotive and natural driving in every environment. It is a unique and innovative car but at the same time faithful to our DNA: the V12 is an iconic symbol of our super sports heritage and history. The new Revuelto combines these attributes to deliver performance figures at the peak of its segment: acceleration from 0-100 km/h in only 2.5 seconds and a top speed of more than 350 km/h.

End of an era: Lamborghini goes hybrid…and very fast (CNN)

Closing out a half century of purely gasoline-powered V12 cars going back to the brand's earliest models, Luxury Italian sports car designer Lamborghini has ...

The plug-in replacement for Lamborghini’s other, less expensive supercar, the V10 powered Huracán, will be revealed later. In the Revuelto, the engine points towards the back to make room for battery packs. Two more electric motors power each of the car’s front wheels, providing all-wheel-drive. Front-wheel-drive low-speed cruising will be fully electric, while high-powered aggressive track driving will employ all available power from the V12 engine and the electric motors. From there, engine power was rerouted through spinning driveshafts to the back wheels or, in many newer models, to all four wheels. The car, whose price is as yet undisclosed, will offer driving sensations ranging from loud and viciously punchy to smooth and silent.

Lamborghini's Revuelto Is Its First Hybrid (WIRED)

The 217-mph electrified Revuelto puts out 1001 horsepower and boasts 13 driving modes, but it can manage only 8 miles on battery power alone.

The Revuelto promises to be more agile as the tempo increases and a good deal friendlier than its predecessors on the limit. Although the Revuelto has an electric range of about eight miles and can be driven silently in Città mode, Lamborghini is clear that the tech exists primarily to heighten the car’s performance and high-speed dynamics. But the new car, Mohr says, is more approachable and accessible. To give you some idea how small this pack is, the car can be fully charged in just 30 minutes on a 7-kW power supply, but the battery pack is more likely to be replenished under regenerative braking. But this particular hybrid is dedicated to expanding the car’s dynamic bandwidth as much as it is tidying up its emissions or reframing a V-12 hypercar in a more socially acceptable way. Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann claims that the company is on a path marked by four things: sustainability, digitalization, urbanization, and geopolitics.

Lamborghini Revuelto: First Look at the New Hybrid Supercar (Mashable SE Asia)

This is one very loud hybrid car. By Mashable SEA March 30, 2023. Lamborghini Revuelto: First Look ...

The Revuelto comes with as many as 13 driving modes, one of which, called Cittá, quiets it down completely and allows you to drive through a historic city center with zero emissions (only for a few minutes, though). The hybrid part of the Revuelto does make sense from a Lamborghini fan's standpoint. It roars and rumbles when you press it a little; it absolutely screams when you rev it up anywhere near its limit which, for the Revuelto, is an absolutely nutty 9,500rpm. Probably not, but again, the Revuelto is not the type of car you buy because it's the best choice for your daily commute and your IKEA trips. While I didn't get to drive the Revuelto, I saw it move a little on Lamborghini's stage, and I heard it roar, and reader, I can attest that it's still the good, old, extremely over-the-top sound you expect from a Lambo. The Revuelto is the spiritual successor of the Aventador, as it is also powered by a V12, 6.5 litre engine.

For space, the Revuelto offers 26 mm more headroom and 84 mm more legroom than the Aventador Ultimae, the run-out edition of its predecessor, where the resulting additional space can accommodate luggage ‘up to the size of a golf bag’. Housing the powertrain is the new ‘monofuselage’ chassis that is comprised of a fully carbon-fibre monocoque and a front structure of a special composite material made of short carbon fibres which have been soaked in resin. Rolling stock is a set of 21- or 22-inch wheels depending on specification, and these are bespoke Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres which are developed for the Revuelto. Meanwhile, Sport steps up proceedings to 907 PS, during which the V12 is always on and in all three Recharge, Hybrid and Performance modes, with suspension and aerodynamics set to enhance the car’s agility. In Citta mode, the suspension, transmission and stability control systems are set for maximum comfort, and limits powertrain output to 180 PS. The list of other Lambos named after fighting bulls is long, and includes models like the Islero, the Espada, the Jarama, the Gallardo and the Urus. The first Lamborghini model to receive a bull-inspired name was the Miura back in 1966, named for a particularly ferocious and large breed of bulls which was, in turn, named for the surname of their breeder, Antonio Miura. Finally, the 1990 Lamborghini Diablo's namesake was a bull that survived for hours in an epic bullfight in Madrid in 1869. The Lamborghini Murcielago, meanwhile, was named after a bull from the late 1800s that allegedly survived 24 jabs from a matador and fought so valiantly its life was spared. Revuelto was named for his 'unruly' nature and was considered something of a revolution in the sport back in his heyday. The Aventador was named after a bull that fought in Spain's 'Plaza de toros de Zaragoza' in 1993, and was presented with an award for 'outstanding courage'.
