It's his second 50-point game of the season and the 12th of his career, which is 10th all-time. But first things first: Golden State has to make the playoffs. This means Curry might need to go on another heater on Friday to give the Warriors a shot to win their first road game since January. The Clippers got second shot after second shot, which was too much for a Golden State defensive unit already stretched thin. This guy has been on fire pretty much since 2013, and the shots he was hitting on Wednesday were once again of the "you can't be serious" variety. Still, the Warriors lost 134-126 in Los Angeles, dropping their road record to an embarrassing 7-27.

[Tyrese Haliburton](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/58307/tyrese-haliburton) has missed the last two games, and while the Pacers won the first of those (against the Pistons) they are 3-12 on the season when he is out (he is questionable Thursday against the Bucks). A couple of years later with a new coach and a revamped roster, and the Blazers are 27th in the league in defense (and dead last in the league over the past eight games). When [Patrick Beverley](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/29512/patrick-beverley) signed with the Bulls he told [Zach LaVine](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/30050/zach-lavine) to stop passing so much (that was Beverley’s job) and to start shooting. The biggest concern is keeping [Pascal Siakam](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/30322/pascal-siakam) and [Fred VanVleet](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/30391/fred-vanvleet) healthy and on the court — both are in the top four in minutes played per game this season. [Bradley Beal](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/29803/bradley-beal) scored 36 points in that Tuesday win against the Pistons and it’s his potential for a big night — and that of [Kristaps Porzingis](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/30160/kristaps-porzingis) — that makes the other teams in the play-in a bit nervous about facing the Wizards in a win-or-go-home scenario. When Leonard and [Paul George](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/29583/paul-george) are both on the floor, the Clippers have a +7.4 net rating (add [Russell Westbrook](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/29376/russell-westbrook) to that duo and it drops to -4.3, but that’s a topic for another day). The Thunder are 4-0 in the last four games [Shai Gilgeous-Alexander](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/30582/shai-gilgeous-alexander) has played, and they are 1-5 in the six he has missed — he means that much to this team and its offense. Injuries have played a part in recent Celtics’ stumbles, with [Robert Williams](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/30598/robert-williams) missing time and [Marcus Smart](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/30043/marcus-smart) back on the court but not looking 100%, but it is not the entire answer. MVP candidate [Joel Embiid](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/30040/joel-embiid) is carrying the offense (and getting blocks where he can), but the defensive concerns about a backcourt leaning on [James Harden](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/29473/james-harden) and [Tyrese Maxey](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/58302/tyrese-maxey) have come to fruition (the defense hasn’t been great on the wing, either). That candidacy lagged earlier in the season when [Khris Middleton](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/29839/khris-middleton) (now back in the starting lineup) and [Jrue Holiday](https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/basketball/nba/player/29487/jrue-holiday) missed time and Antetokounmpo had to take on a different role, but with the team finding its groove Antetokounmpo is back playing to his strengths and is an unstoppable force.

That was one of four games in which a Clippers opponent had at least 10 more possessions than the Clippers based on turnover and offensive rebound differentials. But the Clippers dominated the possession battle against the Warriors by getting 16 offensive rebounds to Golden State’s seven and having only eight turnovers while forcing 16 Warriors turnovers.
