The 'SMP19J' plate was apparently for a photo shoot, and his father drove the car without his knowledge.

Neo was also not an assigned driver. The car plate "SMP19J" was left on the vehicle, and Glynn supposedly did not know the vehicle had ended up in his residence. Glynn was asked to helm the business and given a small area in one of their factories to use as a showroom. Sometime in December 2021, Glynn purchased the Bentley and arranged for a photo shoot of the vehicle to put it up for sale online. Glynn was also charged in court for affixing an invalid car plate with the intention to deceive and another offence of allowing Neo to drive the vehicle without valid motor insurance. The Bentley was registered to the company Neo Times, and Neo's son, 29-year-old Glynn Neo Jia, was the sole director of the company.

A man who altered the licence plate of a Bentley his father drove, in an incident where a school security guard was threatened, was fined $2600 on Thursday.

Ms Ng added that Glynn Neo did not alter the licence plate of the car with the intention to deceive anyone or to use the car on the road. Being entrusted with running the car dealership business, Glynn was eager to prove himself to his father and siblings,โ€ she said, adding that his actions were not sinister. Glynn Neo Jia had admitted to affixing the number plate of another car on the luxury vehicle. Glynn only wanted to promote the sale of the car. The 61-year-old was jailed for eight weeks in October 2022 after admitting to one count of causing hurt by performing a rash act. For affixing the number plate of another car on the Bentley, he could have been fined up to $5,000 or jailed for up to 12 months, or both.
