Participants will be trekking into jungle hidden away from the eyes of the public where Fort Connaught is silently tucked away. It has largely been left alone except for a short duration when SAF held military exercises as the walls of the battery observation post suggest. Folks from Sentosa Development Corporation have installed ropes along the hill to ensure participants can hold them while trekking up and downhill. This year, participants will get to explore the grounds of Fort Connaught through a special access tour – the first-ever since its existence in 1878. It used to be known as Blakang Mati East Battery and was armed with 9.2 inch guns second largest in Singapore. New heritage sites are open to the public every year and the exclusive tours are highly popular.

5, 2023, visitors will be able to enter Fort Connaught on eastern Sentosa island on the weekends. There will only be two tours available each day on Saturdays and Sundays between Feb. Details on the gathering point will be sent to participants upon registration. Transport will also be provided from Harbourfront MRT station to the site and back. 10 to Mar. This will be the first time the historical site is open to the public since its construction in 1878.

After another 10 minutes of trekking through the vegetation, the tour came to its final stop at the fort wall and gun emplacements. Fort Connaught, one of three forts involved in the battle of Singapore during World War II, will be open for guided tours from Feb 10 to Mar 5. Guides will share stories of World War II heroes at heritage landmarks, such as the Jacob Ballas Garden and old Raffles College. There were also many mosquitoes in the area, so insect repellent is highly recommended for those heading on similar walking tours. There will also be talks and webinars including a series called Archives Invites.
