It's everyone's favourite time of the year, well perhaps second-favourite at least, yes that's right, it's Transfer Deadline Day. No, not that Transfer ...

He wants to leave but he doesn’t want to go to Bournemouth. Arsenal are obviously in the more illustrious position right now, but Borussia Dortmund will definitely offer a quicker route to first-team football. This one is probably one for the summer unless Arsenal can make an extremely attractive offer. The problem for Arsenal is the extreme loyalty Zubimendi has for his club. The question is whether he will move this window or not. Not only is he the posterchild of Ecuador’s golden generation, he’s also the best example of the excellent scouting network that Brighton have put together.

But who else will be doing some deals? Chelsea have been the biggest spenders so far in the January transfer window following the arrivals of seven different players, with Mykhailo Mudryk being their most expensive arrival. Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham United have all expressed interest in Gallagher. But Gallagher is not thought to view Everton as a good option for a move. Fernandez has been a target for Chelsea throughout the January window and they are now pushing to get a deal done. Lukic is a Serbia international who represented his nation at the World Cup in Qatar last year. He has also featured five times for the under-21s, scoring four goals and registering two assists. Arsenal have now expressed an interest in Italy international Jorginho. There's no better person to ask than David Ornstein. However, the Gunner shave also been linked with Chelsea's Jorginho, who would likely be cheaper and easier to sign. However, personal terms are already agreed with the player. The midfielder is also on the wishlist of Newcastle United. However, the report also mentions that Barcelona have a non-mandatory buy option to sign Carrasco as part of the agreement to allow Memphis Depay to join Atletico. "The journalistic narration of an alleged frost between the parties is not only totally unfounded but also harmful to the Club and its player. He’s had amazing experiences playing in the Premier League and Champions League, and we want him to bring all of that to try to help improve us. “He’s got a brilliant attitude, great physicality, good quality and I think he really suits the way we play, so he will fit in really well with us. Chelsea’s reply was that, to pay in two calendar years, they want to pay less of a fee up-front. "These were exceeded today, contrary to previous agreements, which is why the transfer will not take place." Today I'm not going to talk about players who are no longer here. - -

Transfer Deadline Day winners, losers: Chelsea land Enzo ... (CBSSports.com)

Enzo Fernandez, Jorginho, Isco, Marcel Sabitzer and Milan Skriniar were just a few to experience contrasting fortunes on Jan. 31. We look at some winners and ...

The Germans will be fine and are well-equipped for their battle at the top end of the Bundesliga but there is no guarantee that Isco finds a new club anytime soon given that there are now major questions over his physical state. Few predicted such a move but the untimely injury to Christian Eriksen presented an opportunity which United pounced upon to add a stopgap solution of quality with the Denmark star now out until pretty much the end of the season. The Ligue 1 leaders badly needed new defensive blood given their current struggles and Skriniar has been desperate to leave as soon as possible but must now give it his all in awkward circumstances for the Nerazzurri. Which brings us to one of the major losers who will now have to see out the season with Inter Milan. Ziyech has become a forgotten man a little bit more with each new arrival as the likes of Mudryk and Joao Felix arrived at Stamford Bridge. It was a busy final day of business with a lot of unexpected players joining surprise clubs which means that there were a number of winners and losers in terms of those landing good moves and some being forced to stay put despite wanting to go elsewhere.

Transfer deadline day: Chelsea dominates January window (Associated Press)

MANCHESTER, England (AP) — The spending power of the Premier League was underlined as English clubs dominated the January transfer window.

The Spanish league leader managed to sign Gavi up to a first team contract, which will prevent him from being able to leave for free in the summer. Bayern also secured the signing of former Manchester United and Ajax defender Daley Blind on a free transfer earlier in the month as it shrewdly worked the market. The move for Fernandez came after the midfielder’s outstanding performances in Argentina’s World Cup triumph in Qatar and represents a significant increase in his valuation after moving from River Plate to Benfica last summer. Chelsea’s business was evidence of its determination to secure a place in next season’s Champions League after a troubled campaign so far has left it in 10th place in the standings and 10 points behind the top four. January is traditionally a difficult month to get major deals done, with prices inflated as desperation grows for teams in the hunt for trophies, European qualification or survival. [No team was more active than Chelsea](/article/sports-soccer-chelsea-fc-france-national-team-portugal-f5a9f3f9db65129e43d08d1bad8e3146), which continued its record-breaking business right up until the deadline by making Enzo Fernandez the most expensive player in British soccer history in a deal worth $131 million.
