In his programme notes for Tuesday evening, Lopetegui said: “The fans helped us a lot and because of that, we gained an important win and an important three points, so I thank them all for their support. The last time Wolves and Liverpool faced off in an FA Cup third round fixture at Molineux, that game was also shown live on BBC One, as Raul Jimenez and Ruben Neves found the net to earn Wolves’ place in the fourth round. After the initial third round tie was broadcast live on ITV4 and ITVX last weekend, the replay has moved across the channels and will be shown live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website on Tuesday evening. With a crucial clash with Chelsea at Anfield for the Reds to look ahead to on Saturday lunchtime, Klopp might take the chance to rotate his squad at Molineux, but those changes could also turn around Liverpool’s poor run of form. Those of a gold and black persuasion feel they should already be in this season’s fourth round with a clash away at Brighton and Hove Albion to come a week on Sunday. And if the game last weekend is anything to go by, we’re in for another treat.

On the other hand, Wolves will be quite upbeat heading into this game on the back of their last two performances – at Anfield and against West Ham. The youngster will be partnered with Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara. That said, the Uruguayan is unlikely to be risked here. Dexter Lembikisa is expected to start as the right back here with Jonny Otto on the left. Meanwhile, Wolves will feel hard done by the result at Anfield last week.

Instead, Wolves tend to be slow and steady. It should not come as a surprise, then, that in 11 of their 19 Premier League matches this season the score has been level at half-time. Under Bruno Lage, and Lopetegui, Wolves have looked to grow into games. They have made the net bulge just 12 times due to deficiencies in both creation and conversion. Although they do not score many goals, Wolves have a better defensive record than many of the teams around them in the Premier League table. Wolves did breach Liverpool’s backline twice at Anfield and they have found the back of the net in six of Lopetegui’s seven games in charge in all competitions. But this side looks old and slow in comparison to the high-tempo, high-energy Liverpool of a few years back. Wolves have lost just one of their seven matches in all competitions under their new manager, who has succeeded in making them harder to beat and more of a threat in attack. Liverpool are stuck in a rut and there is no guarantee they will emerge victorious against a Wolves team on the up.

We used FIFA 23 to predict the outcome of Liverpool's FA Cup third-round replay at Premier League rivals Wolves.
Wolves were dispossessed deep in the Liverpool half, and Alexander-Arnold found Doak sprinting forward on the right. Gakpo made it 2-0 four minutes after the restart with a fantastic diving header at the back post to turn Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross into the net. As Liverpool camped outside the Wolves box, Kostas Tsimikas played a one-two with Cody Gakpo to reach the byline. But, one minute into added time at the end of the half, Mohamed Salah opening the scoring with a well-taken goal. Jurgen Klopp's side looked toothless going forward and fragile at the back and they will have to show a response this evening. So will they do that and secure their spot in the fourth round?

Liverpool would want to end their winless run when they visit Wolves for the 3rd Round Replay of the FA Cup.
Wolves hadn't managed to score in any of their previous four games before their victory over the Hammers. However, their recent impotence in front of goal might just give the edge to Liverpool in this fixture. They have now gone winless in their last three games in all competitions, while also conceding eight goals in that period.

The issues we had in that game were obvious and I explained it already, parts of it at least after, that we try to find a different organisation and that didn't work out. In the end, it was not executed well enough, definitely, but there might be a reason for it that we didn't explain it well enough. It doesn't make the game better but obviously the next game is waiting, and that's the good thing in our life that there's always the next chance. Wolves have a chance up the other end with Ait-Nouri, but a combination of Gomez and Konate cutting it out. Losing a game in the way we lost it is already bad enough, but then facing all of you doesn't make life better, to be honest! Bajectic drops deep to get a feel for the ball. A brilliant pass from Kelleher, a superb touch and run by Tsimikas which takes him in field brings the first yellow card of the game, dished out to Traore. There's a brief moment of excitement from the crowd after the ball - they feel - hits the arm of Keita. Traore meets it with plenty of time and space to set him self, but he uses neither as he blasts his left-footed effort miles over the bar. Wolves are furious with the referee after they perceive him to have denied them a corner. The legs in both Bajcetic make up for the lack of them in Thiago. Costa does well to knock the ball into the path of Cunha but his attempt is wild.

2 hrs from kickoff: Hello and welcome to The Sporting News' live coverage of Wolves vs Liverpool in the third round of the FA Cup. 5 mins from kickoff: The players are out at Molineux — can a much-changed Liverpool bring a halt to their woeful run of form? Wolves host Liverpool at Molineux in Wolverhampton, England. It kicks off at 7.45 p.m. Ait-Nouri has a shot blocked just inside the Liverpool box and moments later the visitors have the ball in the back of the net at the other end. 29th min: Jimenez gets in down the right-hand side and slings in a low cross, but he has no one up to accompany him and Milner has time to bring the ball down and pass it out calmly. 88th min: Costa knocks a ball down to Cunha in the box after a lovely passage of play from Wolves, but he can't keep the ball down and smashes it into the stands. 1 72nd min: Cunha draws a foul from Phillips at the edge of the box after a quick give-and-go with Jimenez and that's a booking and a free-kick in a dangerous area. 51st min: Ait-Nouri gets on the end of a fine crossfield ball to the left-hand side before his attempt to put it in the box is blocked by Milner. 0 Liverpool sealed their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the second attempt as they beat Wolves 1-0 in a replay at Molineux.
