TVB actor Mat Yeung released from prison, talks about 'worst torment' (CNA)

The Shadow Of Justice actor was sentenced to 18 days in jail for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

He said in the apology video: “I am deeply sorry that my drinking issue has been bringing so much trouble to everyone and the company. He also recorded an official apology where he bowed twice, reported Hong Kong's The Standard. No one was injured in the incident.

Now that he's released, Mat says he most wants to eat a bowl of noodles and reunite with his parents.

“I kept thinking about issues I would encounter [after his release] and how I was going to face the media. When I was in Stanley prison, I was in a solitary cell too. “I had to self-quarantine in Lai Chi Kok for the first five days — this is part of the procedure. I felt worse after reading letters from [girlfriend] Lisa [Ch’ng] and the company,” he said sobbing. Now that I am out, I hope that I can do more to help others or to make up for what I did,” he said tearfully. He woke up at 6am every day, had his meal, and then the doctor would go see him.
