You may recall a long, long time ago that a class action lawsuit was being formed to take CDPR to task for lying about the state of Cyberpunk 2077 at launch ...
The main complaint was the CDPR made “materially false and misleading statements” ahead of release, and that CDPR should have known the game was essentially unplayable on last-gen consoles like PS4 and Xbox One before it launched. The situation with Cyberpunk 2077 has been…complicated over these past two years, and I still don’t think CDPR ever fully took enough responsibility for the launch situation, where their apology was comingled with “we just didn’t find these bugs” statements that are hard to believe. One such statement was from CEO Adam Kacinski that Cyberpunk 2077 ran “surprisingly well” on last-gen consoles in November 2020, just a few weeks before launch. This legal chapter, for now, appears to be over. This comes out to around 0.49 cents per share for those who acquired CDPR securities in 2020. You may recall a long, long time ago that a class-action lawsuit was being formed to take CDPR to task for lying about the state of Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, and as such, losing investors in the company a whole bunch of money when their stock tanked as a result.

The lawsuit filed against CD Projekt Red over the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 finally gets settled, with the case going on for over two years now.
The developer seems to have learned from the events surrounding Cyberpunk 2077's launch, even if $1.85 doesn't sound like a lot for a company of this standing, and hopefully the sequel's release will be less controversial. In essence, it's taken a good couple of years for investors to finally see the end of this case. Under the terms of the settlement, CD Projekt Red along with Rosen Law Firm, which is representing the investors, will need to request approval again by April 28, but the developer doesn't need to "admit to any specific charges" brought against it, according to PCGamesN. The developer was under investigation pretty much from the word "go," with a Polish law firm suggesting that the studio may have acted illegally by misrepresenting the finished product for financial benefit. Things are different now, thanks to a series of significant patches and updates, but it's still a pretty raw memory of disappointment for many. In fact, Sony eventually pulled the title from its digital storefront after a series of complaints that it was barely playable for some.

The suit leveled at "Cyberpunk 2077" has finally been settled, and CD Projekt Red is looking at a hefty payout as a result.
The upcoming ["Phantom Liberty" DLC](https://www.svg.com/995472/cyberpunk-2077-phantom-liberty-what-we-know-so-far/) will likely net the CD Projekt Red a bit more change when it comes out later this year. Despite the controversy, "Cyberpunk 2077" actually made a great deal of money, bringing in over $500 million USD in its first year and giving The judge argued that the initial draft of the settlement "includes a lot of information that is not in [the] motion and is not supported by a declaration or other documents," and essentially sent CDPR and the plaintiffs back to the drawing board in April 2022. At long last, it appears as though the "Cyberpunk 2077" class action suit is coming to a close. The rest of the document stresses the amount of time and money that could be sunk into drawing the legal battle out any further, so considering how long it took for the latest approval to get through the legal system, it seems likely that the case will have its final hearing around that time. Although the final payout is considerably less than Rosen Law Firm originally estimated, it seems as though everyone involved in this case will be glad to have it behind them. [lawsuits against "Cyberpunk 2077"](https://www.svg.com/314878/the-lawsuits-are-stacking-up-for-cyberpunk-2077/) and its publisher began to stack up.
