FAS Acting President's Christmas 2022 Message - Football ... (Football Association of Singapore)

To all in the Singapore football family,. On Christmas Day last year, we witnessed one of the most thrilling football matches ever at the National Stadium ...

I wish all of you, a blessed year end, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. On the men’s amateur football front, the Singapore Football Leagues (SFL) 1 and 2, Island Wide League and the Centre of Excellence Under-21 (COE U-21) and Under-17 Leagues also resumed full action. Albirex’s breakout star Ilhan Fandi bagged three awards – AIA Young Player of the Year, SELECT Goal of the Year and was named in the SPL Team of the Year along with his teammates. I also know that in many areas, we can and must do better, and this leaves us plenty to strive for together in 2023. Qatar did a magnificent job, and few would contend that the entire tournament, and especially the final, was the best one ever. Many people contributed to the success of the tournament, but we should be exceptionally proud of our very own Muhammad Taqi Aljaafari who was one of the 129 referees selected to officiate at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. May you all be blessed with warmth and love, with lots of good food and family time, looking forward to a better footballing 2023. In front of more than 2000 supporters, Croatian striker Kristijan Krajček became the first player to ever score a treble in an exciting Singapore Cup final. A full year has since passed and in a feeling of déjà vu, the FAS is once again caught up in the preparations for our Lions’ matches at home and away for the upcoming AFF Mitsubishi Electric (ME) Cup 2022! Kodai Tanaka won the biggest prize of it all – the AIA Player of the Year. Although we are still in the midst of a busy football calendar in 2022, it is nevertheless good to reflect on what has been an eventful year. A full calendar of domestic football resumed this year.

'Still going strong': Colourful decorations turn Melaka Portuguese ... (CNA)

MELAKA: It is two weeks before Christmas and Simon Rodrigues was busy hanging up lights at his parents' home at the Portuguese Settlement in Melaka.

If people ask me to open the gate to look at the decorations, I will welcome them in,” said the pensioner with four children and ten grandchildren. “Some of them don’t know what Christmas is about. But it’s not, it’s Jesus…He is the light, so that is why we welcome him with a lot of lights,” he told CNA at his home. The children and grandchildren like the festive atmosphere. “I feel happy and excited to be back, especially before Christmas when you are doing the decorations and really feel the spirit of Christmas. “If you have interest and ideas, it won’t be difficult to do. "That is when we start the celebrations. Mr De Mello who works in hotel maintenance had already prepared the wiring for the lighting. “We are in the process of preparations to welcome our saviour Jesus Christ. It has become a culture for us,” Mr Rodrigues told CNA, while hammering a nail above a window where the words “Merry Christmas” were displayed. People come here to see something unique that they cannot find anywhere else in Malaysia. “Christmas is about nativity...Jesus is born in the stable.

Whether they are traditional, modern, quirky or not even grown in the ground, they are sure to evoke some festive cheer. Ullapool creel tree.

The Ninjas don't stop there. The Isle of Raasay lies off the West coast of Scotland in the Inner Hebrides, and is rooted in centuries of illicit distilling. He said: "The pyramid shape of the tree is inspired by the rooftops of turrets of buildings found in Dundee and the outer look is from 1960's aluminium ornamental vintage Christmas trees." It is renowned for its lavish Christmas decorations inside and out and its spectacular tree which sits over the bar in the Grill Room. The tree in the Throne Room is certainly fit for a king. The Christmas tree, constructed in the bow window of Sir Walter Scott's beloved library, is lovingly constructed from hundreds of research books relating to the life, literature, and legacy of the author in the world today.

“I find that during this season of the year, many people might be lonely. “Unfortunately, we have circumstances of our youth who require a lot more care, or they are not ready to be integrated with their families. "There is a fortnightly freighter, but it's double the cost and then some." "We were out on the boat and saw a turtle, jumped in the water to swim with it, and as we did, a whale shark came up behind us. "For special occasions like birthdays and Christmas, you need to plan three months ahead to make sure the presents arrive in time. "The reef here is some of the best I have ever dived," he says. Everyone's free to worship and celebrate." Residents really struggle to fly to the mainland," Amanda Clarke tells CNN Travel. People launch boats or swim off to see all the beautiful coral and marine life -- you don't have to go very far to see dolphins, turtles or octopuses," Lai says. About 22% of the roughly 1,700 residents on the island have Chinese ancestry, 17% Australian, 16.1% Malay, 12.5% English and 3.8% Indonesian, according to the [2021 census](https://abs.gov.au/census/find-census-data/quickstats/2021/LGA51710). It's creepy, and I feel itchy thinking about it," says Lai. Few people lock their houses, and some don't even take the keys out of their cars, adds Lai. "It is a very special island," she says. In December, we're getting into the holiday spirit and celebrating the festive season.
