The semiconductor industry has been hit by high inventories and slower global economic growth, but Dr Beh noted: “We are confident that the semiconductor and semiconductor equipment industries in Singapore will be able to ride out the short-term challenges.” Mr Brian Tan, regional president of Applied Materials South-east Asia, said that the new facility will open in 2024 and will employ an additional 1,000 staff once it is fully functional. President and chief executive Gary Dickerson said: “For the past 30 years, Singapore has been a strategic hub for Applied Materials, and we are excited to build on our success with new investments.”

Applied Materials (AMAT) announces plans to make multi-billion-dollar investments in infrastructure innovation in the United States and Singapore by 2030.

KLA announced plans to build a new research and development and manufacturing center in Newport, Wales to strengthen the SPTS division. LRCX moved south 37.7% in the same timeframe. By building the center in the Silicon Valley, AMAT will be able to collaborate with the world’s major chipmakers and universities for R&D purposes. KLAC lost 7.8% in the year-to-date period. This will bolster its manufacturing capacity and widen technology partnerships. market by the end of this decade.
