Hence, commercial sponsorship is important and we welcome more sponsors to partner our broadcasters to make “live” broadcasts of such international sports events more accessible to Singaporean viewers. It is becoming more challenging to provide such “live” broadcasts of international sports events for free. Broadcasters find it difficult to recoup the escalating cost of broadcast rights, because there are other options for viewers to watch such sports events “live”.

World Cup 2022 matches to be shown on Singtel TV, Starhub TV ... (Youthopia)

The package for football's biggest tournament, which will be held in Qatar from Nov 20 to Dec 18, costs $98 under an early bird pricing which runs till Nov 6.

World Cup matches in the group stages will be played at 6pm, 9pm, 12am and 3am. Singtel TV subscribers who sign up for the World Cup package will be able to catch the matches on their Singtel TV Go app. Similarly, those who subscribe to the World Cup matches via Starhub will be able to watch it on its TV+ platform, allowing them to catch matches on the go.
