The Best of Class Sweet red wine was Barefoot Cellars, Sweet Red, NV, 750 ml. Fruity on the palate, with black fruit notes of blackberry and black cherry. Light strawberry and red fruit notes on the nose. The Official Tasting Note described it as: Fruity, with ripe, well-integrated tannins on the palate. The Bernal Valley is in the state of Querรฉtaro in north-central Mexico, about two hours north of Mexico City. Blue and dark fruits on the nose. Very fruity on the nose, with fresh red and black fruit notes. The Judging Panel described it as: The Best of Class Premium Bordeaux Blend was Rodney Strong Vineyard, Red Blend, 2017, Sonoma County. A Best of Class award goes to the top wine in each category. Itโ€™s noted both for the quality of its judges, many of whom are renowned wine experts with decades of industry experience.

The World's Best White Wines 2022 New York World Wine ... (Forbes)

The New York World Wine Competition (NYWWC) recently announced the Best in Show and Best in Class wines from its 2022 judging of white and sparkling wine.

The wines that took Best of Class awards at the NYWWC are all outstanding. The Best of Class Ice Wine was Dancing Dragonfly Winery, Hula Ice Wine, 2020, American, 375 ml. It makes its ice wine from Frontenac blanc grapes, which it draws from throughout the Midwest and both coasts. Semi-sweet (Dry to Demi-Sec) showing a pronounced Riesling character on the nose. The top wine in each category wins a Best of Class award. The runner-up was Vieni Estates, Pinot Grigio, 2021 Vinemount Ridge, Canada, 750 ml. The Best in Class Pinot Grigio went to Emerald Park, Pinot Grigio, 2019, California, 750 ml. Itโ€™s noted both for the quality of its judges, many of whom are renowned wine experts with decades of industry experience.
