Next week is the finale, and while we will probably not get any more Daredevil action (in any sense), I would expect all to be revealed, and there are hints that Titania will make a reappearance. As for the finale, I have to believe we already know who is behind this all, that dweeby tech guy who is A) obsessed with She-Hulk and B) rich enough to be bankrolling goons to try to steal her blood. The Daredevil “walk of shame” is probably the only “out of character” joke made, but I mean, it’s funny. The fight between the two was great (“I figured the guy wearing the devil costume was a bad guy”), as Daredevil dodges her powerful blows with his hyperagility, only to be bested once she does her sonic slam which negates his hearing-based movement abilities. There have been jokes about Daredevil showing up in She-Hulk and twerking, given how goofy the show has been, but I don’t think you can make the “they ruined Daredevil with jokes!!” case here. But as episode previews indicated, today is finally the day where Matt Murdock and Daredevil return to the MCU, hopping over from his Netflix days and arriving in a more meaningful fashion than his very brief Spider-Man cameo.
Charlie Cox arrives as Daredevil in "She-Hulk," his official superhero debut at Marvel Studios.
She-Hulk asks Murdock if he’s the “gold devil,” in reference to the chef’s-kiss, Marvel-Studios-is-clearly-in-control moment of Daredevil fighting in a red and yellow suit that’s a homage to what he wore in “Daredevil” No. (His Netflix series suit was red and black, based on his more modern comic-book look.) Murdock responds with “I’m Daredevil” as the never-to-be-skipped theme music from his Netflix series plays in the background of the conversation. That song shows Feige and his studio know they don’t have to completely save the day when welcoming new Marvel heroes to the MCU. But what that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” appearance did do was put Marvel fans on notice that the blind superhero Daredevil was finally, truly, a part of the MCU, a few years after the Man Without Fear’s Netflix series was canceled in 2018. Those Marvel Netflix shows appeared to claim that they were apart of the MCU, but it was always all talk and no visuals. That cameo — which, unlike Cox’s “She-Hulk” appearance, came as a total surprise — was only as Daredevil’s alter ego, Matt Murdock, who was offering legal advice to a Peter Parker/Spider-Man watching the world crumble around him.
To mark Charlie Cox's return to the MCU on She-Hulk, we're counting down his best Daredevil brawls, from hallways to stairwells to prisons.
Daredevil pops in and out of frame, ducking into doorways only to emerge, seconds later, fighting off more goons. Toward the end, you can feel his exhaustion as he leans against a wall and heaves for breath before pushing himself, hips first, forward to finish off the last enemy. Metaphorically, it challenged other superhero shows—and action shows in general—to rise to this masterclass in direction and choreography. the Hallway Fight) the Russian Mob (A.K.A. Daredevil season three was uneven as a whole, but it also reached some impressive highs. The judicious use of slow-mo emphasizes the viciousness of the scene, which is aided by Nobu’s mastery of his signature weapon, a kyoketsu-shoge. That makes it all the more heartbreaking, then, when the odds continue to mount and Elektra sacrifices herself to save Matt from a killing blow. The brilliance of this scene comes from the difference between their fighting styles: Kingpin is all rage and power, a charging bull, while Daredevil is more lithe and nimble, flipping over and around Kingpin’s bulkier form. Jen Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) teams up with Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) in "She-Hulk" Episode 8 on Disney+.
Between this and “No Way Home” and the original “Marvel’s Daredevil” on Netflix, one thing Marvel can now bank on is Daredevil’s versatility within the MCU and that the character fits into film, television, and varying genres. Matt and Jen might not be the next Marvel power couple, but Maslany and Cox make a compelling pair both in physical chemistry and with their easy rapport. Matt’s walk of shame the next morning — in a full Daredevil suit, shoes in hand — is one of the show’s funniest visual gags so far. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Jane’s (Natalie Portman) tepid love story got a resurgence in 2022’s “Love & Thunder,” and “WandaVision” proved to be a worthwhile experiment, but Phase 4 has otherwise continued the MCU tradition of shoehorned or absent partnerships. The same goes for pulling back on romance when the TV and film climate is more open and diverse than ever. MCU Daredevil finally appeared on She-Hulk. But did the episode confirm if this Matt Murdock is the same one we know and love from Netflix?
We suppose they might say that the Matt Murdock we meet in She-Hulk is a Daredevil variant from [the Multiverse](https://nerdist.com/article/marvel-multiverse-explained-doctor-strange-wandavision-loki-mcu/). Conversely, there’s really nothing in the Netflix Daredevil series that contradicted the MCU as we know it. If those two characters refer to their past as adversaries and their final showdown in the Daredevil series finale, that will finally confirm one way or the other if the Netflix show remains canon. The Pro Bono work that he and Foggy did was a huge part of the Daredevil Netflix series narrative. The question all of Marvel fandom has right now is this: Is this version of Matt Murdock the same Daredevil we know from the Netflix series, which ran from 2015 to 2018? [Luke Jacobson](https://nerdist.com/article/luke-jacobson-she-hulk-mcu-tailor-superhero-designer-marvel-comics-history-inspirations-explained-leo-zelinsky-daredevil/), and Jen represented the wannabe hero [Leap-Frog](https://nerdist.com/article/leap-frog-she-hulk-marvel-comics-history-who-is-leap-frog/), who was suing him.
The Man Without Fear finally makes his long-anticipated appearance in a team-up episode with big implications for Jen and the MCU at large.
For the moment, though, we have to applaud the way the episode mixed the high of a superhero team-up (complete with a more intimate connection) and this absolutely devastating low. But perhaps that is a bit premature and something to consider next week after the finale. And for some of the jokes to land in this week’s She-Hulk — namely the ones about his brooding, abilities, and hallway fights – then a few key moments of Daredevil must have occurred. [Oscar Isaac](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/oscar-isaac)) and Ms. As always, there is the question of just how much of the older show actually occurred in the MCU. Daredevil is still an obscure hero at the time of the episode. For a public hero like Tony Stark ( [Robert Downey Jr.](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/robert_downey_jr)), a disclosure like that was no big deal, but for a Scott Lang ( [Paul Rudd](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/paul_stephen_rudd)), it could be ruinous. But it remains to be seen if this chummier, charming Matt will return to a darker tone in the eventual Daredevil: Born Again series on Disney+. [She-Hulk: Attorney at Law](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/she_hulk_attorney_at_law) finally debuted Matt Murdoch ( [Charlie Cox](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/1155812-charlie_cox)) in its penultimate episode. Marvel, it seemed as though the US Department of Damage Control was in charge of Accords compliance with their interest in Kamala and her powers. And were the Accords revoked relatively recently to the Jacobson case? That sensibility now extends to Daredevil with his brooding and tendency to fight goons (or henchmen) in hallways lovingly lampooned.

Ever since Charlie Cox made his triumphant return as a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been waiting for more Daredevil in the MCU.
The only important aspect characteristic that doesn’t really come up in that episode is that he’s Catholic and how important that is to him. The specific choice to echo a story that he wrote not only serves as a bridge between the last season of Daredevil to the MCU, but it shows respect to the creative team behind the original series. That makes this episode of She-Hulk sort of fulfill the same purpose Daredevil: Yellow did. His father attempting to do the right thing and getting killed for it is part of the reason Matt decided to start fighting crime in the first place. While this episode of She-Hulk isn’t an adaptation of that run, it does seem to carry the same spirit and energy of that comic. Maybe when he’s back home he can get another suit from Kate Bishop’s (Hailee Steinfeld) LARPing friends that made her suit at the end of Hawkeye. In the same episode, we can see Leap Frog (Brandon Stanley) pick up his costume from Luke in the background, which comes to play in the show’s penultimate episode. The Daredevil series on Netflix was a fan favorite and the highlight of the Marvel shows made for that service between 2015 and 2019. He didn’t want to help the Kingpin, so when Daredevil eventually showed up, they were able to work out a deal that would benefit both of them. This symbolically shows that this is Daredevil’s return to form for the MCU. If this episode serves as a prelude for whatever happens in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again, this suit helps show in a literal way that this is Matt’s rebirth. This yellow and red color scheme is actually the first suit Matt ever wore in the comics.
