IND vs SA Live Score 2nd T20: Rahul, Rohit light up Guwahati with ... (Hindustan Times)

India vs South Africa 2nd T20 Live Score: KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma stitch 50-plus partnership as South Africa win toss and invite India to bat first.

Rohit Sharma skipped the practice sessions and was also reported to land in Guwahati on Saturday evening and not with the rest of the team on Thursday. A T20I match between India and Sri Lanka back at this venue in early 2020 had to be abandoned due to poor playing conditions. If that is the case then fans might get to watch a truncated contest. If we look at the performance in bilateral series, India have a terrific record. Latest weather report from Guwahati: There is a cloud cover but doesn't look like it will rain. We got solid batting line-up and it will be a challenge upfront.โ€ Lungi Ngidi drops his length and bowls it bit slow as Rohit Sharma charges down the track. Parnell comes in to bowl his second over and KL Rahul welcomes him with a KLassic shot. Rohit Sharma whacks Keshav Maharaj for a boundary towards the mid-wicket region. Not kidding but there's a snake on the field. Rohit Sharma departs after scoring 43(37). Catch the LIVE updates of IND vs SA 2nd T20I:

FOUR! Having been bowled out for a paltry score on Wednesday, South Africa must believe that there is no way but up. As the lone left-arm pacer in the World Cup squad, Arshdeep is all but guaranteed to feature extensively in Australia. Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh did his reputation a world of good with a stellar show in the first T20I. Siraj, who joined the team at training here, last played a T20I in February. Bumrahโ€™s absence opens the door for his replacement, Mohammed Siraj, to make an impact. David Miller needs 32 runs to become the leading run-scorer for South Africa in T20Is. The last T20I in Guwahati was washed out in January 2020. Rahul gets a boundary first ball of the match. Good slower ball next up and Rohit flicks this to mid-on as the ball stops on Rohit. A bit of extra bounce this time and Rahul awkwardly rides the bounce and guides it to third-man for a single. Kohli comes in and fends one that keeps low to end the over.

IND vs SA: Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul Help India Register Series ... (NDTVSports.com)

India vs South Africa: India successfully defended a total of 237 for 3 against South Africa on Sunday. The Rohit Sharma-led side won the game by 16 runs.

Suryakumar smashed 61 off 22 balls with the help of five boundaries and five sixes. Maharaj picked up his second wicket of the match and dismissed Rahul for a well-made 57 off 28 balls which included five boundaries and four towering sixes. Dinesh Karthik took the crease in the final over, a situation that was absolutely tailor-made for the batsman. On the last ball of the match, Miller slammed a huge six but failed to guide his team home by 16 runs in the massive run chase. The Indian captain helped himself with two boundaries in the next over bowled by Wayne Parnell as the Indian innings started to gain momentum. However, the batter was found in front of the stumps the very next over. India ended the powerplay with 57 runs without any loss of wicket. While smashing Indian bowlers all around the ground Miller brought up his half-century in 25 balls with a huge six off Arshdeep. In the last over of the match, Miller brought up his blistering century in 46 balls. After 10 over of the match, South Africa's score read 70-3. Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock then played some careful shots while taking singles to ease some pressure from the team. David Miller's explosive ton went in vain as Indian bowlers hold their nerve to clinch the T20I series 2-0 after 16 run victory in the second T20I against South Africa at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati on Sunday.

South Africa bowl first against unchanged India; Ngidi replaces ... (ESPNcricinfo.com)

In front of a sold-out Guwahati crowd at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and, expectedly, chose to bowl against ...

He stayed unbeaten on 69 in 48 balls, a useful innings to break his run of poor scores, but had his strokeplay been as smooth as Miller's, perhaps South Africa could've even won the game despite their horrid start. Deepak Chahar - the pick of the India bowlers with 0 for 24 - kept him quiet, and once he realised that Miller could cause more damage, he went to play second fiddle. For the second game in a row, both Temba Bavuma and Rilee Rossouw were out for ducks, with Arshdeep Singh yet again taking two wickets in his first over. Both Kohli and Suryakumar were fresh at the crease, and South Africa had the opportunity to bring the scoring rate down. In all, he clubbed eight fours and seven sixes to reach his first fifty in 25 balls and his next fifty runs came in 21 balls. Even though Maharaj had Rahul lbw next over, the 12th, India were going at a run-rate of a shade under 10, and that meant he had done his bit in their pursuit for 200+. However, Kohli hammered Anrich Nortje for back-to-back fours and then Karthik, in his seven-ball 17, played with Rabada's plans by moving across to the off side early and then dragging wide deliveries over the leg side in an 18-run final over. Kohli was left unbeaten on 49, starved for strike in the final over with Karthik finding the boundaries and India finishing on 237 for 3. And off the next eight overs of pace bowling, the two batters - and briefly Karthik - pummelled 124. The difference between the two sides ended up being the solid opening partnership that India had, one which South Africa failed to reproduce for the second game in a row. He nearly dragged South Africa over the line, dominating an unbeaten partnership of 174 with [Quinton de Kock](https://www.espncricinfo.com/player/quinton-de-kock-379143). If the first T20I in Thiruvananthapuram was a tantalising contest between bat and ball, the second T20I in Guwahati turned out to be the polar opposite.
