Corruption, redemption, and 'Better Call Saul' (Angelus News)

The "Breaking Bad"/"Better Call Saul" epic deserves more attention than the average show.

But in the fall and redemption of Kim Wexler, he comes pretty darn close. Walter White’s act of selflessness toward Jesse is also dimmed by the fact he has left his biological son, his wife, and infant daughter in a state of material, emotional, and spiritual devastation. The “Breaking Bad”/“Better Call Saul” epic — and I use that phrase without reservation — deserves more attention than the average show. Walter White’s redemption requires him to slaughter even more people in a desperate and bloody effort to save his surrogate son, Jesse. He was a man consumed by anger, envy, and a seething sense of superiority. It was a time travel extravaganza ping-ponging between events that took place before, during, and after “Breaking Bad.”

Odenkirk has been nominated for the same award five times in the past. What other prequels are good, let alone a masterpiece that almost surpasses the original!? What a sick joke!” This chicanery? Fans soon took to Twitter to express their frustration with the Emmy organisers and highlight what they felt was an unfair snub. Six seasons later, the series – which is about a con artist-turned-criminal lawyer – still has no Emmy to its credit. What a sick joke! [September 12, 2022]

Could Better Call Saul Still Win At The 2023 Emmys? It's Possible (/FILM)

Six brilliant seasons and not a single Emmy win. Let's call it for what it is, folks: This farce is nothing short of chicanery!

(Well, [most of them](https://twitter.com/MJMcKean/status/1569516959859101698)!) Unfortunately, for those invested in such things, it appears that "Breaking Bad" will always come out ahead over its successor in terms of [Emmy wins](https://www.emmys.com/shows/breaking-bad). [Alan Sepinwall](https://twitter.com/sepinwall/status/1569343496804253697), this year's Emmys only took the first half of the show's final season into consideration: "As a reminder, several shows aren't being considered for their most recent batch of eps. Why 'Better Call Saul' Never Won A Single Emmy Despite Getting 46 ... (The Quint)

Better Call Saul was nominated for seven Emmys this year. The show has had 46 nominations till date. Despite its brilliance in terms of acting, storytelling ...

You can’t watch it passively; the show’s mystique is in the fact that you have to read between the lines. Because the truth is worth it.) It is far from the shows that will spoon-feed plot twists to the viewer. Everyone expected them to win, and the Emmys didn’t surprise me in any category at all. If you start enjoying Better Call Saul, you might finish an entire season in a single seating. These shows are as brilliant as they come, and there are a number of factors that set these shows apart from Better Call Saul, which probably led to them sweeping the Emmys. In fact, if compared against these shows, I’d even like to argue that BCS is in a niche category. This might also happen because a show like Squid Game is popular worldwide, whereas BCS doesn’t enjoy the same recognition. It doesn’t show ultra-rich siblings fighting for a piece of their father’s legacy. There is no doubt about the fact that Better Call Saul isn’t popular; it is. They are normal people with unusual complexities that occur within their normal lives. The show has had 46 nominations during its entire run spanning seven years.

Better Call Saul wins zero Emmys for the sixth year in a row (The Digital Fix)

Despite being heralded as one of the best TV series of recent years, Better Call Saul still hasn't won a single Emmy, despite being nominated many times.

Since first airing in 2015, Better Call Saul has been a hit of the modern television era. Incredibly, the show has never won a single award. However, despite rave reviews over the years, the [drama series](https://www.thedigitalfix.com/best-drama-series) just cannot seem to catch a break at the Emmys.

Better Call Saul Fans Will Love Michael McKean's Brutal Response ... (Looper)

Unfortunately, despite the bumper crop of nominations and widespread critical acclaim, "Better Call Saul" did not win any Emmys this year, a notable snub.

"Better Call Saul" has been nominated previously for outstanding drama series, outstanding sound editing, outstanding lead actor (for Bob Odenkirk), outstanding supporting actor (for Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Gus Fring, as well as Jonathan Banks, who plays Mike Ehrmantraut), outstanding directing, and outstanding picture editing, and has a paltry few statues to show for it. Overall, according to the Emmys website, the only Emmy awards "Better Call Saul" has ever won are: outstanding writing for a drama series (2019), and outstanding guest actor in a drama series (for Michael McKean, who plays Chuck McGill, 2019). ["Better Call Saul," which recently ended](https://www.looper.com/969487/the-ending-of-better-call-saul-explained/), is a very popular show that was poised to do well at the 74th Emmy Awards, which were presented on September 12, 2022.

"In 10 years people will still be talking about it while the rest of these shows will become distant memories to everyone." "He should have won. He gave it his all in the final season of Better Call Saul. What a sick joke!" Another fan mentioned the other identities Odenkirk's character assumed on the Breaking Bad prequel.

zero for “BCS” (AMC also split that season in half too). This could end up being very similar to the final season of “Breaking Bad,” which was split in half and won the Outstanding Drama Series Emmy twice — for both halves. Bob Odenkirk Praises Better Call Saul Co-Star Rhea Seehorn At ... (Game Rant)

Following the Emmy Awards, Bob Odenkirk voiced his appreciation to work with Rhea Seehorn on Better Call Saul for the past eight years.

[Thanks to Breaking Bad](https://gamerant.com/best-breaking-bad-cameos-better-call-saul/), fans knew that one way or the other, Kim would be out of the picture. Even though she knew what she was doing a good amount of the time was wrong, she loved playing the game. [what to expect from Seehorn's Kim Wexler](https://gamerant.com/better-call-saul-rhea-seehorn-playing-kim-wexler-reflection/) since, much like a lot of the actors in the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul universe, Seehorn came from a mostly comedic background as an actor before playing Kim Wexler. [Better Call Saul](https://gamerant.com/tag/better-call-saul/) fell short when it came to scoring big wins for the night. Better Call Saul's predecessor won Emmys for the performances of its actors, and the consensus is that Better Call Saul is every bit on the same plateau as Breaking Bad, which many fans attribute to the acting. From 2015 to 2022, Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn's chemistry together played a vital role in Better Call Saul turning into the legendary show it became.

Five Emmy Narratives to Expect in 2023: A 'Better Call Saul ... (Hollywood Reporter)

Is Emmy season ever really over? The glut of television and a collective obsession with accolades have ballooned the TV awards race into a year-round affair ...

[being interrupted by dance music](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/jennifer-coolidge-emmy-played-off-1235218831/) was funny. And there’s almost definitely no lingering beef between [Quinta Brunson and Jimmy Kimmel](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/emmys-jimmy-kimmel-quinta-brunson-speech-backlash-1235218984/). [Netflix](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/t/netflix/) could petition the TV Academy to consider one of the two episodes as a TV movie. [by both measurements](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/warner-bros-discovery-wins-most-emmys-hbo-beats-netflix-1235219116/), but it happened one year after a similarly strong showing from its streaming frenemy. [awards](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/t/awards/) race into a year-round affair. Nothing will be official until the board weighs in early next year (likely between February and April) — but, barring some catastrophic drop in buzz, don’t be surprised if The [White Lotus](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/t/white-lotus/) transitions to the comedy categories come 2023. So, while there may be a slight respite from FYC billboards, panels and screenings, they’ll be back soon — [even if nobody watches the show itself](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/emmys-tv-ratings-monday-sept-12-2022-1235219542/). [ongoing snubs of Better Call Saul](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/better-call-saul-only-murders-in-the-building-2022-emmy-snubs-1235219225/), particularly given the Breaking Bad spin-off’s final season just wrapped a few weeks back. After all, this year’s nominations proved that the movie category has become [a bizarre catch-all ](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/emmys-2022-tv-movie-category-1235195754/)for Emmy hopefuls with zero chance elsewhere, but it seems like too much of a stretch in this instance. Emmy rules state that a series can only compete in the limited/anthology categories if there are no recurring characters or storylines. Saul wasn’t the only series to split its season in half, but Stranger Things will likely not be part of the Emmys conversation next year.
