A notably humorless Johnson growls things like, “These powers are not a gift, but a curse, born out of rage,” and “I kneel before no one.” Though after losing a son and spending 5,000 years in prison, it’s understandable he might be feeling a little cheesed off. We also get a glimpse of Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, the ruthless government operator from both Suicide Squad movies and the

Black Adam's Sabbac Explained: Who Is the Villain of the DC Movie ... (IGN)

The latest trailer for Black Adam has given us our first good look at Sabbac. But who is this demonic villain, and why are they taking on Dwayne Johnson's ...

Black Adam attempts to use Sabbac as a means of destroying the world and ushering in a new golden age of his homeland of Kahndaq, but he doesn't count on Shazam bringing his entire family as back-up. It's pretty clear already that the DCEU version of Sabbac isn't a particularly close adaptation of any of the comic book incarnations. But whereas Intergang is normally known for harnessing advanced weaponry and tech against heroes like Superman, it seems Gregor is turning to the supernatural realm in his fight against Black Adam and the Justice Society. The movie could even take a page from the New 52 version of Ibac by revealing Sabbac to be a villain Black Adam has battled since his earliest days as Khandaq's champion. Whether because of the often complex rights issues surrounding the Shazam franchise or the fact that demon-possessed supervillains can be a tough sell in all-ages superhero fare, Sabbac hasn't appeared much outside of DC's comic book line. Just as Shazam and Black Adam draw strength from six powerful gods, Sabbac is empowered by six of the worst demons in the DCU. Because of his magical origins, Sabbac is a particular threat to Superman, whose own powers are hindered by magic. Black Adam may think of himself as a god among men, but even his power is dwarfed by Sabbac. That's because the DCEU is about to meet Sabbac, a being so powerful and so evil that even Black Adam looks swell in comparison. These are the topics we cover here: [Who Is Black Adam Villain Sabbac?](#who-is-sabbac) [Sabbac's Demonic Powers](#sabbac-powers) [Sabbac's Comic Book Origins](#sabbac-comics) [Sabbac's Role in the Black Adam Movie](#sabbac-black-adam-movie) He also has the power to breathe fire and often grows to the size of a small building. If there's one takeaway from the marketing of DC's Black Adam movie, it's that Dwayne Johnson's Teth-Adam is not a hero.

New 'Black Adam' Trailer Shows Off the Film's Villain, Sabbac (The Mary Sue)

Who Is Sabbac? Played by Hot Jafar, actor Marwan Kenzari, Sabbac will be making his live-action debut in this film. The Hellboy-like appearance of the character ...

Ishmael Gregor was a Russian mobster who killed Karnes to steal his powers and become a more “feral” version of the villain, losing a humanoid-demon look for a more horns-and-hooves version. It seems like this version might be a combination of the two. This version isn’t (at least in the trailer) seven feet tall, but it does have the horns and hairy beast element that is … Karnes was not the only person to be given the powers of Sabbac. It does make for an interestingly diverse film (although still disappointing that Black Adam isn’t played by a MENA actor, but the villain is). Now, we also get a better look at the villain Black Adam will be battling.
