Targeting Arshdeep Singh was a big conspiracy of Pakistan which was prepared long back. Here's the proof.

The location of the IP address was Punjab of Pakistan, the city Muree. Some phone numbers related to the place in Pakistan from where this conspiracy was hatched have also been known. At the same time Arshdeep's Wikipedia page was changed. And rumours were spread that he was part of the Khalistani squad. Arshdeep's page on Wikipedia was converted into a Khalistani page by ISI hackers. In the changes made in Arshdeep's page, certain words were edited. The India-Pakistan match was a big platform for inciting sentiments for the ISI. But Indian intelligence agencies monitoring social media found that ever since the catch was dropped in the match, tweets targeting Arshdeep increased. First Arshdeep's profile page was changed under Pakistani conspiracy. The Indian pacer missed a catch in the match. About 67.6 percent of the different social media posts were written against Arshdeep. It looked like it was a reaction to the defeat.

Who exactly can edit Wikipedia pages, and can all editors access all pages? How does Wikipedia protect itself against misinformation?

Some pages attract so much rubbish, or are so critical to the project, that as a last resort we restrict editing of them. For this, there is a warning process of up to five stages. There is an ‘edit’ button on Wikipedia articles next to subheads, and anyone can click on it to reach a version of the page where they can make changes. Wikipedia has page histories, so along with the latest version, the previous version will exist too, available to both readers and editors. While it is not necessary to have a Wikipedia account to make changes, those with registered accounts get some benefits. Very briefly, accuracy, neutrality, and lots of links to establish the source of the information being put out.
