Only the most talented actors can achieve on-screen chemistry of this level. With acting this extraordinary, some fans wonder if there's some romance going on ...
Unfortunately, we cannot be too sure of the nature of the relationship, as Arden and Junoflo have [ collaborated on musical projects](https://www.instagram.com/p/B1T5Dotpp75/) in the past. [J-14](https://www.j-14.com/posts/the-shadowhunters-stars-who-the-cast-has-dated-in-real-life/) reports that Dominic and Decker began dating not too long after Dominic and Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland called it quits, meaning Dominic and his boo got together sometime in 2021. And ever since then, Dominic and Decker have been attached to the hip. Or are they just that good at their job? Are these Partner Track co-stars dating? Only the most talented actors can achieve on-screen chemistry of this level.

I need to see what happens, and I need to see what other choices she will make. At the same time, I was so upset to find out the reveal about Jeff Murphy (Dominic Sherwood) and the role that he played in everything. I love that Ingrid comes up with a way to outplay the game that was played against her. In a way, they both almost want to be the other and are jealous of the other, and they respect the other, but maybe are just a little oblivious. Some of the conversations with Ingrid and her parents are moments that are so reflective of conversations I’ve had with my parents and experiences. That was something Georgia added to the adaptation, and it’s so great. What did you enjoy about getting to explore that, and getting to really dig into the relationship with her parents and her sister? I’m like, “Ooh, I fit that.” And then, to read the book and to see this journey that she goes on and to say, “Hey, this is important. I’m doing it and it’s happening, and I can’t believe that it’s real. I never really imagined what that would be like, but it’s so nice to be able to be on this journey and to say that I did it. [Doing interviews] is more nerve-wracking to me than filming because, at least with filming, I get to pretend, and I get to be someone and live it. It’s so rare to read a story and to be so invested because you relate so much.
Wondering if Netflix's legal drama 'Partner Track' starring Arden Cho will return for a Season 2? Here's everything we know about the series renewal.
And considering the cast is incredibly charming and Season 1 ends with several cliffhangers we have a good feeling Partner Track could come back for a sophomore season. We’d see Ingrid, Rachel, and Tyler embark on new chapters of their lives — Ingrid would return to the firm and work with Z, Rachel would figure things out with Justin and pursue playwriting, and Tyler would start a new job with a new man in his life. We’d also likely explore the relationship between Ingrid and Murphy and find out if he’s really the snake that the end of Season 1 makes him out to be. Curious if Netflix has renewed Partner Track for Season 2? And what a second season of Partner Track might look like? [Helen Wan’s 2013 novel, The Partner Track](https://www.amazon.com/Partner-Track-Novel-Helen-Wan/dp/1250019575?tag=decider08-20&asc_refurl=https%3A%2F%2Fdecider.com%2F2022%2F08%2F26%2Fnetflix-partner-track-ending-explained-season-1-finale%2F&asc_source=web).
Arden Cho talks entering the legal world as Ingrid Yun for the series Partner Track on Netflix.
It’s a simple thing as seeing all the boys doing the boys’ thing and bonding in the office and you’re like, “Um, hi, can I be a part of this?” or “why am I not a part of this?” Even in that, it’s like, maybe you didn’t intend to leave us out, but you did. We must have a season two and I’m hoping the viewers binge it all, and then tweet Netflix like, “Hello, must have a season two, we need to know what happens to Ingrid!” There are so many exciting things that I feel like could happen. It’s fun to hear from people who’ve seen the show saying, “It was tough to watch, but I loved it. I feel like there was a lot of pressure to make sure that I am true to the character and respectful of Ingrid. Oh, that’s really uncomfortable,” and “Oh, I’ve said that before, but that was not my intention.” Because that’s the other thing, sometimes I believe that people say microaggressions or they say things with no ill intent, but it is received, unfortunately, not well and sometimes it takes a little educating. It’s not our job, but it’s nice that on a platform like this that we can in a fun and dramatic way educate without really planning to. And yeah, I mean, I want to do it justice, especially for readers and fans of the book. Why did I pick that one?” What I hope is that it’s that ending moment where she’s like, “Oh, okay. Rewind, what is life really about, and what am I doing?” I mean, there’s like so many thoughts running through her mind in that moment, right? Are you down for season two and what would you hope happens next? To all the women out there who are afraid to take leaps or to take the risk, do not do that to yourself. Now, she’s bringing this incredibly fierce, intelligent, and determined book character to the screen while portraying situations that many women will (unfortunately) relate to.

If it weren’t for the scripts insisting that Ingrid and Jeff are endgame, in fact, it would be easier to believe that she might be destined for another kind of opposites-attract romance with Z (Desmond Chiam), a client’s son whose ideals keep clashing with the firm’s lack thereof, and with whom Ingrid has the biggest spark even in their brief scenes together. If “Partner Track” were a 95 minute movie, it would’ve had to make sharper edits in its story and meandering dialogue. This could make for an interesting conflict, especially when paired with Ingrid struggling to reconcile her ambition with the the firm’s complete bungling of a racist incident involving her biggest, frattiest competition (Nolan Gerard Funk) midway through the season. But it’s hard to buy that when Cho and Sherwood have so little chemistry that even the show’s ample use of sexy slo-mo can’t sell the sexual tension the pairing so desperately needs. The most frustrating turn in any romantic comedy is when the leading lady and/or man becomes a jerk. That she’s often compromising her values or throwing friends like Rachel (Alexandra Turshen) and Tyler (Bradley Gibson) under the bus to climb the company ladder is, she reasons, an inevitable hazard of the job.

Will she find happiness with charming millionaire Nick Laren, who sweeps her off her feet early in the season after an unexpected encounter? Or will the history ...
After breaking up with Jeff in the book, Ingrid presses pause on dating until she bumps into Tim Hollister, a partner at Parsons Valentine & Hunt, at a corporate legal ethics CLE at New York City Bar after she’s left the firm to start a firm of her own! Instead, she ends up with a character not yet introduced in the series. In the book that inspired the series, Ingrid does not end up with either character.
Arden Cho knows a thing or two about the challenges with breaking a glass ceiling as an Asian American woman.
For instance, Cho pointed to a scene in the second episode in which Ingrid celebrates Chuseok, a Korean harvest festival, with her family, and multiple scenes where Ingrid and her mother speak “Konglish,” a mix of Korean and English. “I feel like, when there is such a big expectation for every Asian American film or TV show to make everyone happy and to be perfect, you just sort of set them up to fail. After Netflix released the show’s first trailer last month, the cast and producers of “Partner Track” received backlash for seemingly making a strong Asian female lead choose between two white male love interests. While there are some similarities among the different Asian cultures, Cho, who identifies as Korean American but admits she can sometimes pass as Chinese or Japanese due to her possibly mixed heritage, said that interchanging those cultures — without any research about their different nuances — can be “very problematic” and hurt the way a story is told. Her character Ingrid is ambitious to a fault “because she doesn’t want to lose [her edge], but she ends up making mistakes that she regrets," Cho said. Now, Cho, who has “learned the power of saying no” but would prefer to not dwell in the past, wants to use her story to inspire the next generation of Asian American women.
For one thing, she is caught in the midst of a sizzling love-triangle with doting wealthy heir Nick Laren (Rob Heaps), and fellow lawyer Jeff Murphy (Dominic ...
However, the status of her love life is less clear: after engaging in a clandestine affair with paralegal Justin (Roby Attal), she tells him she doesn’t know if she wants to commit to him. Of course, there’s always a chance that, after realizing that Nick was actually the good guy of her two suitors, she’ll try to make amends with him. After a chance encounter with his former enemy and fashion tycoon Valdo (Alejandro Hernandez), the two team up to take down a corrupt fashion line named Luxe. In the end, quitting turns out to be a good thing, because it forces her to realize how wrong it was for her to convince Z to accept the Sun Corp deal. Ingrid is shocked that Marty knows about her brief stint in jail, as the only people who she told about it were Lina and Murphy. And now that we know Murphy is a nefarious character, who’s to say that he won’t go so far as to attempt to undermine Z’s environmental efforts just to spite Ingrid? While in a challenging position with her love life, Ingrid is put in an even more challenging position in her work life. [Aurora Amidon](https://filmschoolrejects.com/author/aurora/)· Published on August 26th, 2022 [Ending Explained](https://filmschoolrejects.com/topics/ending-explained/) is a recurring column in which we explore the finales, secrets, and themes of interesting movies and shows, both new and old. Ingrid also comes out (seemingly) victorious in her work life – even after quitting Parsons when Marty offers the partnership to Murphy instead of her. The life of a New York lawyer is full of trials, tribulations, twists, and turns. Throughout the ten-episode first season of Partner Track, Ingrid’s professional and personal life is jam-packed with obstacles and complications. Although Nick breaks off his engagement with Ingrid when he discovers she is cheating on him with Murphy, Ingrid is happy.
Such is the case for Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho), a young woman gunning to make partner at her elite and very old-school New York City law firm, Parsons Valentine.
“Ingrid might have to rethink some of the choices she’s making.” She admits there’s a bit of Ingrid in her, but the partner track was never her end goal. For Wan, the stars aligned regarding her first and only novel, “The Partner Track,” which made its debut in 2013. At a deep subconscious level, that scene made me understand more of who she is and made me want to bring this book to life.” “She’s just human, and she makes a lot of mistakes. At the time, Wan was busy as a lawyer specializing in IP and media at a New York law firm and raising her young son. “It was so wonderful to have women telling a woman’s story.” She’s the first lawyer in her family and feels pressure from her parents. To make things even more complicated, she finds herself in a love triangle with Jeff Murphy (Dominic Sherwood) and Nick Laren (Rob Heaps). “How nice to have a woman do that.” Such is the case for Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho), a young woman gunning to make partner at her elite and very old-school New York City law firm, Parsons Valentine. I can't tell you how many times in my life I suggested something and it went unheard until a man suggested it,” Cho said in a phone interview.
Partner Track is a law drama but let's be honest here, it's mostly a romantic drama. Our protagonist here is Ingrid Yun, an idealistic young lawyer who ...
As mentioned above, we predict that this will be renewed but we’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though! At the time of writing, Partner Track has not been renewed for a second season. So far, Partner Track has had a pretty mixed reception with critics giving this show mixed reviews but audiences (at the time of writing) more positive overall.
What makes Netflix's "Partner Track" stand out is, Ingrid Yun, a first-generation Korean American who deals with patriarchy at her law firm.
But after his termination, Tyler got some time to reflect on the decisions he had made in his life and figure out what he really wanted. Rosenstein, one of the senior partners at the firm, suggested her name for a new writer’s program in “The Syndicate Theatre.” However, Rachel was doubtful whether she wanted to change her career from being a high-paid lawyer to a struggling artist, yet she thought of giving the interview a try. He told Valdo that an individual might not have shrill enough in his voice to create a ripple in the world, but a collective union of all the artists would certainly shatter the glasses of the kingdoms of those sitting at the top of the hierarchy. At the end of “Partner Track” Season 1, Rachel was neither selected for the writer’s program nor elected as the partner of the firm because of her low work performance during the year, though the real reason was that she was dating a paralegal, Justin Coleman. Ingrid didn’t approve of Ted’s ideology, yet Marty forced her to lie to Zi-Xin about Ted’s plan for Green Tech if she wanted to save the deal and become a partner. She always wanted to do the right thing, but Marty and others around her compelled her to take the wrong path to fulfill her goals and fill her pockets. At this point, Rachel Friedman suggested her client and friend, Wanda Jean Weaver, buy 2 percent of Sun Corps shares as the market would open, and with their assembled power, they had a share vote of 50.1 percent, which was enough to pass a motion to kick out Ted at the shareholders meeting. To protect the deal and her chances of promotion, Ingrid assured Marty that she would get the signatures of both parties on the term sheet before the article came out. Ted didn’t reply to Zi-Xin during their first meeting but later revealed to Marty, Jeff, and Ingrid that he was only buying Min Enterprises because he wanted to shut down Green Tech. On the other hand, Jeff was career-oriented and ambitious himself and was able to understand why Ingrid weighed the professional life more than the personal one. But Ingrid Yun, the protagonist of “Partner Track,” believes in following a righteous path and playing by the rules. Marty Adler, along with the management committee, exercised the right to announce a junior partner, and thus, Ingrid, along with the others, decided to be in their good books to fulfill their goals.
Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho) won big, then lost big in the Partner Track season finale. After betraying Zi-Xin 'Z' Min (Desmond Chiam) by closing the SunCorp deal ...
That would inform how we feel about it and the philosophy of the writers room, is we want every character to be [as] complex and nuanced as possible. Having the family helps us understand at a deeper level that we don't necessarily talk about overtly on the show, but it's underlying everything about why Ingrid is doing what she is. It's like the story Ingrid's mother tells her on the stairs, telling her that her dad was a building supervisor. And that's why episode 5 with the retreat and episode 6 with the HR interview, we were trying very hard to thread the needle getting into some of the nuance and subtlety of it all. There's a flashback scene in the book where a young Ingrid goes to New York City for the first time for the amazing Big Apple experience. Her character seems so interesting in the books. [What] we found fascinating is that while there might be lip service to all the diversity conversations at these firms, what is the reality of it? I'm curious about how she got [to where her character starts in the book]. I would just say he's still a lawyer, he's just on the other side of the table. We're exploring what it is to be someone who's not part of the power structure operating in like the ultimate power structure. We added Ingrid's younger sister because I have two younger sisters who are so influential and important in who I am. GEORGIA LEE: One of the things we did was add characters and expand storylines.
Partner Track creator talks with Deadline about the big Season 1 cliffhanger and the potential for a second season.
DEADLINE: The character of Ingrid’s younger sister, Lina, was not developed, pretty much all we know about her is that she’s a thief, somehow cannot work a dishwasher, and she’s pretty good at Christmas decorating. We wanted to bring poor Ingrid all the way down to where she’s done the horrible thing to her best friend, she’s been showponied around as the poster child of diversity at Parsons Valentine, which she knows is a total lie. And then the next day, in the next episode, she has to go be the show pony. And then also, the HR investigation that follows kind of gets to the heart of the matter, which Marty Adler was like, the bottom line is that Dan Fallon is good for the bottom line. I used to work at a company like that too, and the reality is like, yes, the freshman year, the junior people, you have like 50% women, 50% men or you know, you’d have diversity, but as you go up the power structure, the number of women partners falls off. Because there’s a lot of lip service to diversity, equity, inclusion at a lot of these corporate places but what is the reality? And it was part of the storyline that we all felt such a responsibility to get it right and to be as nuanced about it as possible. We want it to be a fun, romantic comedic show but for me, episodes five and six, which are the retreat and the fallout of the retreat, the internal HR investigation, is what makes me excited about making television. We often get notes from our lovely network execs who tell us to make the characters more likable, and I always say that our job as writers is not to make a character more likable, our job is to make a character more understandable. So that is definitely the trio that we want to keep and focus on. Is she still on that track or does she now have a different perspective on what is important for her to be fulfilled in her career? And then I always say ultimately, I don’t think women need to be defined by their romantic relationship, so I always say I feel like the theme of the story is real power comes from being true to yourself.
