Tiger's 'mind-blowingly enormous' LIV offer revealed... and it's more than you think.

Norman had previously hinted at the offer, noting that the money was ‘mind-blowingly enormous.’ Few professional golfers have been more critical of LIV Golf than Woods. In July, ahead of the British Open, Woods supported the R&A’s decision to disinvite Norman from its Celebration of Champions exhibition, while also lashing out against the golfers who defected to join the LIV ranks. “Tiger is a needle mover.

Greg Norman: Tiger Woods Rejected at Least $700M From LIV Golf (Sports Illustrated)

Norman previously said the legendary golfer turned down a “mind-blowingly enormous” offer to join the tour.

As for Woods, it remains unclear what his future might hold after he missed the cut at The Open Championship, and emotionally walked off the course to a standing ovation. What is the incentive to go out there and earn it in the dirt? “That number was out there before I became CEO,” he told Carlson during last weekend’s LIV Golf Invitational Series event at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey, per ESPN. “Look, Tiger is a needle mover, right?

During an appearance on Fox News with Tucker Carlson that aired Monday night, Norman confirmed what he told the Washington Post in a story two months ago.

Woods' offer is roughly four times more than what Phil Mickelson signed with LIV Golf.

Woods is an avowed critic of LIV Golf, saying last month he believes golfers who joined the tour “turned their back on what has allowed them to get to this position,” ripping into LIV Golf’s 54-hole, no-cut format. Mickelson’s $138 million in earnings last year easily led all golfers, buoyed largely by his massive up-front payment from the tour. Norman told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that LIV Golf offered Woods “somewhere in the neighborhood” of between $700 million and $800 million, explaining “Tiger is a needle mover.”

Amid the euphoria, and with no other tiger range country expected to see a doubling of their big cat population since 2010, there’s growing concern in Nepal that the country’s tiger habitats may have hit their carrying capacity.

8 Things Tiger Woods Could Have Bought With $800m (Golf Monthly)

The 15-time Major winner reportedly turned down the figure offered by LIV Golf - here's what it could have bought him.

Alas, the Italian team would have been a long way out of reach of Woods’ budget, at $1.35bn, but if reported estimated values are correct, he could have still stumped up the money for the third most expensive team, McLaren, with plenty of cash to spare. In fact, he could have had several, with a current asking price of “just” $160m for Rangyai Island in Thailand. Closer to home, Pumpkin Key off the coast of Wood’s Florida home could have been his for a mere $95m. Woods may have rejected the offer from LIV Golf to spearhead its inaugural season, but had he taken it, he’d have had more than enough to buy another asset of the Public Investment Fund that backs it. A private island would have been the perfect way to spend some of his LIV Golf Invitational Series cash. Not only that, but at “just” $450m, the 46-year-old would still have had plenty of change left over for a few other luxuries. With the change from the purchase Woods would even have enough left over for...

World's Tiger Population Has Increased by 40% (Treehugger)

It's good news for tigers as a new assessment finds the world's tiger population is stable and is maybe even increasing.

“While we are making progress in parts of its range, including South and Northeast Asia, tiger populations in Southeast Asia are still threatened with extinction.” With the advancement of methods and greater adoption of these reliable field and analytical techniques, we now have a more comprehensive understanding of tiger populations.” The subspecies Malayan and Sumatran tigers are listed as critically endangered.2 Tigers remain endangered and there has been significant decline through the last three generations. South Asia’s tigers account for 76% of the world’s tiger population. In the past, assessments sometimes used very conservative population estimates or underestimated tiger numbers.
