'Xenoblade Chronicles 3' is a heartfelt JRPG with a hefty combat system. Here are six beginner's tips that can help you on your journey through Aionios.
In the Options menu, you can switch off your own or party members’ arts and auto-attack numbers. Some of the ingredients are elusive, so you might want to eat at canteens more than once if you need its specific boost. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 encourages players to assign classes to party members willy-nilly. If you’re fighting a powerful boss, this can mean coming back to a wiped team after you disengage. It might not seem necessary at first because you have Manana. After all, why pay for food if Manana can cook XP and drop-boosting meals for free? If you remove all their accessories and gems and assign them the same class, you’ll see that their base stats are actually comparable. That way, you just need to pay once to learn the recipe and then make it at your own campfire. I thought it’d be the same for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, I constantly swapped between party members because I didn’t want them to fall behind their over-leveled peers. However, some of the little things slip through the cracks. It walks beginners through the basics during the first three chapters of the game. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 might be the best JRPG of the year.

There are plenty of leveling-up menus including one specific to Ouroboros, so make sure to check them regularly and make your characters more powerful whenever you can. However, you should be aware that some quests can also negatively impact your Affinity. Be careful when undertaking quests and do your best to complete them properly. Basically, Nopon Coins allow you to upgrade and level up your teammates to make them stronger. With these tips and tricks, you won't just be making your way through the main story, you'll be doing it more effectively. Choose the right meals to help you complete hard quests or defeat difficult bosses. This will open you up to more quest opportunities. When you have enough energy in an Art gauge, unleash the Art that will strategically make the most sense. When in battle, your teammates can have one of three different Combat Roles. Knowing their strengths and weaknesses is important so you can use them effectively. That way, you don't have to mash any buttons when in combat. However, enemies are likely to target them, so you'll want to protect them with your other teammates. Whether you're new to Xenoblade Chronicles games or it's been a while, here are the most crucial things you should know. If you play it smart, you'll be able to take down more enemies and level up your characters more efficiently.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is one of the biggest JRPGs on the Switch, but just how long is it?
Arguably, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the most approachable entry in the series. That is an enormous amount of content, and amazing since Xenoblade Chronicles 3's world is five times larger than Xenoblade 2. If there is one thing certain about the Xenoblade Chronicles saga is that the games are huge JRPGs that demand the player’s attention and time.
'Xenoblade Chronicles 3' is almost certainly the year's most enormous RPG, but Nintendo's trilogy capper is as fun and full of heart as anything in the ...
It's a shame, then, that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is so coy about surfacing some of the best stuff you can find in the game. The class system that makes all of this possible is a stroke of genius which motivates you to explore the gigantic world while keeping combat gratifying for an extraordinarily long time. I wasn’t even halfway through Xenoblade Chronicles 3 before I was ready to declare it as The Best One. Mind you, that came immediately after playing all the previous games over the span of a few months, so my memory is fresh. Each of the 20-plus classes has a distinct play style, from the aggressive, frontal attacking Martial Artist to the culinary-themed, firestarting Yumsmith, and they all become more powerful as you level them up. The environments you'll explore over the course of the 70-plus hour journey (I know, but it's worth it) also help make this setting feel like a real world. I'll just say right now that the tutorial for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 lasts about 10 hours, and if you aren't game for that, you should play something else. Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s central narrative touches on far heavier subjects than your average Nintendo game: The role war plays in keeping a population in check, the process of unlearning propaganda, finding the humanity in those you’ve been conditioned to see as the other, and seeking joy in a world that worships (or, more accurately, fetishizes) death. The game is also full of little worldbuilding touches that hammer home just how well thought out all of it was. Each citizen of these kingdoms comes out of a birthing chamber as a preteen and lives a maximum of 10 years (called "terms" instead) as nothing but fodder for the war effort. Noah quickly comes to the conclusion that the oppressive structure of his world is keeping its denizens from living rich, full lives. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 seems like a somewhat normal war story up front, but you'll notice — and, if you're game, quickly get hooked on — a steady trickle of world-building weirdness throughout the first 10 hours. Each Xenoblade, from the series’ 2010 debut on the Wii to this latest Switch-exclusive installment, gives players immense game worlds to explore, intensely deep (and often confounding) systems to play with, and some of the wildest stories you’ll see in any RPG.
Chain Attacks are a special in-battle system in which a character leads off an all-out team attack. The attack has special effects such as defense debuffs or ...
If an Attacker starts the Chain Attack, they get a First Blood bonus with extra damage and TP. Healers can't push the TP meter past 99%, but they gain from using healing arts on allies. A Keves/Agnus character gets more TP from the attacks of a Keves/Agnus party member respectively. In order to make the most of Chain Attacks, you’re going to need to know how they work.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 uses classes and roles familiar to any RPG fan. Here's a full list of what's in the game and what they do.
The result is a class that feels more like a commander of battle than a soldier in the field. The Lifesage class doesn’t become available until later in the game, but it’s one of many healer classes able to contribute most directly to a boss fight. It’s the most straightforward and powerful healer class in the game, but its versatility is limited as a result. The Thaumaturge is another offensive Xenoblade Chronicles 3 class disguised as a healer. Zephyr is a different take on the idea of a tank. Soulhackers are among the game’s most versatile units, but their usefulness ultimately depends on the strength of their foes and the abilities they can steal from them. Here’s a complete list of the classes and roles in the game, and how they relate to each other. The bow and arrows evokes the standard ranger RPG archetype, but the Stalker seems to play more like a sniper. While most attackers want to avoid damage as much as possible, the Seraph is a notable exception. Machine Assassin is a trickier class than the other attackers, but it’s easy to guess otherwise from the dual axes. The character Sena starts as an Ogre, a heavy-hitting attacker class designed to dish out as much raw damage as possible. The attacker role in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the standard DPS position.
