Ryan Gosling Reveals Reason He Said Yes to Playing Ken (Hollywood Reporter)

Ryan Gosling got a sign from his daughters after Greta Gerwig offered him the Ken role in the 'Barbie' movie, starring Margot Robbie.

Fallon acknowledged that Gosling, who has two daughters, aged 6 and 7, with partner Eva Mendes, “broke the internet” when his real-life version of Ken was revealed. I walk out in the backyard and, do you know where I found Ken, Jimmy? Face down in the mud next to a squished lemon,” said Gosling of his daughters’ Ken doll. Gosling took a photo of what he found and texted it to Gerwig saying, “I shall be your Ken, for this story must be told.”

Tough Guy Ryan Gosling Won Late Night This Week (Vulture)

Rounding up our favorite late-night clips of the week, featuring Ryan Gosling, Jenny Slate, Dana Carvey, Joe Pera, and Nikki Glaser.

And it’s this weird intensity that he brings to a quick-change sketch on The Tonight Show. He and Fallon go between the couch and the set of their old, canceled cop shows. But Pera is with him every step of the way. This was a momentous week in late night, as it saw the sun set on the Bodega Boys. Desus and Mero broke up — now who’s gonna get custody of Anna Kendrick? The show was always welcome on the lineup because it brought a cavalier attitude to the news and more ass-eating jokes than you could shake an ass at. His Trump is garglier than most, and his Biden is very pleading. Other ringers this week included Kerry Washington and RuPaul (and Desus is slated for later this summer). But Carvey played to his greatest strength: presidential impressions. Vulture already collected a list of bangers from the boys, but I want to shout out a few more: that time Denzel Washington was on the show and mostly talked about train stops, John Legend’s song about (you guessed it) eating ass, and when Mero cyberbullied Tucker Carlson on behalf of Chris Hayes. They will be missed.

Ryan Gosling and the 'The Gray Man' Offer Up a New Super-Spy ... (GQ Magazine)

'The Gray Man' tries something different: no gizmos, no gadgets, just a great watch.

His watch in The Gray Man is packed with similar symbolism, according to Gosling. Originally, Six was supposed to wear a different watch. In Drive, where Gosling helms a getaway car, his character straps a watch on the wheel of his car because “he didn’t trust whatever clock was in the car,” the actor said. . “Before every film a prop person comes up to you and asks what kind of watch your character wears,” he said. The Kingsmen shot darts out of their Bremonts. And when they’re not helping the wearer out of a bind, watches are critical to maintaining a suave, elegant, and tasteful Spy Vibe. “[Watches are important to spies] because every second is a life or death moment in the world of these movies,” Gosling told a group of reporters at an event the week before the movie’s premiere. Now, in The Gray Man, Ryan Gosling’s character Sierra Six is a new spy with a new type of watch: a Tag Heuer Carrera Three Hands. The first Kingsman movie even scored a watch collaboration, with the brand Bremont, out of the gate.
