Tottenham manager Antonio Conte may have unearthed a new right wing-back option after Lucas Moura impressed in the unfamiliar position against Sevilla.
Lucas is a player who loves to dribble with the ball at high speed. But Moura also used his speed to good effect by pressing at opportune moments, while he made a vital defensive header to clear the danger after a deep cross. But the former Paris Saint-Germain flyer is an excellent squad player and Conte will be keen to keep him happy.
Tottenham Hotspur started their pre-season with a tour of South Korea packed with media appearances, grueling training sessions, and Korean barbecue.
Spurs’ principal sponsor AIA has also been using the tour to make headways into the Korean market, including showcasing an artificial intelligence version of Son Heung-min, known as “AI Sonny” who can share personalized messages with AIA’s Korean customers. In 2012, a pre-season match in Shanghai helped land Manchester United a world-record sponsorship deal with Chevrolet, who were reportedly blown away by United’s popularity in China. As well as their two games in Korea, Spurs’ schedule has been jam-packed with open training sessions, press conferences and media appearances. When Tottenham’s players arrived in Korea, they were met at the airport by Son Heung-min, who had stayed in the country following his games with the national team last month. A nice spin on the ball by Son led to Harry Kane’s opener early in the second half before Ivan Rakitic levelled the score for Sevilla with a strike from just outside the penalty area. Son and Kane both grabbed two goals in Tottenham’s first match — an action-packed win against Team K League. Conte deliberately waited until two minutes into the second half to bring Son on so that he could be cheered onto the pitch by the local fans.
Tottenham Hotspur's first preseason friendly in Korea was an exciting affair with goals galore, a 6-3 win for Spurs against a team of K-League all-stars.
A good warm-up against a side that likes to press, a taste of what they’ll likely see against the better teams in the Premier League. He had the turnover that started the play for Kane’s second half goal, and put in a crunching (and clean!) tackle in Spurs’ box that surely saved a goal. - I thought that Skippy played pretty well in the first half, but Bentancur was a distinct improvement over Skipp when he came on in the second half. - Son definitely caught Montiel with an elbow in the first half that drew blood, but it 100% wasn’t on Son, and the contact looked incidental. Plenty of robust tackling, and Richarlison got the brunt of a lot of it. - So contrast this with the K-League match and this was a lot less “friendly” of a competition.

A look behind the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur's tour of South Korea as our Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold speaks to Antonio Conte and the players.
Comedian and TV star Michael McIntyre, a regular at Spurs matches with his family, also popped out for a few days of the tour before departing before Friday. Even if it's never easy when you arrive in the Premier League and he will have to adapt to the intensity of the games but he is a high level player. He has a great personality and he will adapt well to the team." We had a chat outside that hotel for a while and the 28-year-old is a thoroughly engaging and likeable guy, even if he remained expertly tight-lipped on anything the Spurs bosses might have spilled during his time within the hotel's inner sanctum. The 21-year-old will sign a long-term contract and Spurs will pay Middlesbrough £12.5m for him, rising to around £20m eventually if all conditions and objectives are met. The theme of growing ambition and excitement is definitely one that is sweeping across the Spurs squad. It can be very important to take the best decision about whether to stay in the squad, to stay at Tottenham or go out on loan and play with regularity every game and continue to improve." "Together, with Sarr we also have other young players and we will try with the club to take the best decision for them. I think we are going to start the season with a lot of ambition, but also a lot of humility and respect. The priority at the moment is to be focused on the preparation. "Like you said, it's going to be 10 years at the end of August. It's still very exciting and I'm looking forward to the new season. "Sure we are always looking to improve the squad if there is the possibility."

Tottenham winger Bryan Gil has a “great opportunity” to impress Antonio Conte in pre-season, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.
“If he catches the eye of Antonio Conte over the next few weeks, he could play his way into his plans going forward and he could save Spurs a bit of money in the transfer market if Gil does show what he has previously shown in Spain.” Regardless, with Tottenham still in the market for an attacking player, having shown interest in the Jesse Lingard and Anthony Gordon, O’Rourke reckons that Gil stepping up to the plate could save Tottenham millions. After hardly getting a look in during the three months he spent playing under Conte, many could be forgiven for thinking Gil would be loaned back in the current window.
Here's how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players in the goalless first half of their pre-season friendly against Sevilla in South Korea.
Sent a header at the keeper from Sessegnon's cross. Playing at right wing-back, he showed a good link-up with his fellow Brazilian Richarlison and made a good defensive header from a cross 17 minutes in. Made a good save to deny Papu Gomez before the hour mark.

N/A Came off with Kane with just over 15 minutes to go, having been a constant threat. Hit a weak shot after being teed up by Son and on 67 minutes he cut inside and curled an effort just over the crossbar. Added some great touches to the midfield but lost the ball in a key area on the hour mark and Sevilla should have done better with it. Combined with Tanganga to stop a Sevilla shot on target. Didn't have much to do in the second half other than pick the ball out of the net once.

Chairman Daniel Levy has been spotted wearing his around the hotel. On the back foot, he rambled an explanation about players at different stages in their pre-season fitness work. 'Son 7' Spurs shirts are everywhere except in the shops because they sell so fast and South Korea has become the Tottenham's second biggest e-commerce market, only behind the UK. It is fantastic to play with him.' He's like a Brazilian.' 'Adding players like Richy is incredible. 'The fans, the love. 'The people came to see Son,' Conte was informed. We are feeling the love. Kulusevski fired a yard over and Ivan Romero dragged a late chance wide for Sevilla as it ended with honours even in Suwon. Sevilla started to grow into the game and former Spurs favourite Erik Lamela drilled a volley that clipped the outside of the post on 38 minutes. Having scored twice in our 6-3 win over Team K League on Wednesday, the striker was there once more to bury our best chance of the night five minutes into the second half against a tough, well organised Sevilla side.

The English Premier League season starts on August 5, with Tottenham's first game against Southampton a day later. Richarlison played his second game since joining Spurs in a £60 million move from Everton and was on the receiving end of several reckless tackles. Spurs faced a much tougher test against the Spanish side in the final game of their preseason trip to South Korea than on Wednesday, when Son and Kane both scored twice in front of 64,000 adoring fans in a 6-3 win over a K-League "all star" team.
Here are our talking points from Tottenham Hotspur's 1-1 draw with Sevilla to end the north London club's pre-season tour in South Korea.
When almost a quarter of a country supports one team the knock-on effects to future generations are huge and this tour only rubber-stamped that growth. "I spoke with Lucas and I think that this will be a good option for me and in the past I converted Perisic in that position. The wing-back has completed his medical and even undertaken his media duties with his new club and with that paperwork the last thing to be signed off there is a chance his signing may not be announced until at some point on Monday. Hundreds upon hundreds of people at the airport cheered as they watched him greet the team as Conte, Kane & Co arrived and they did so again when he left with them a week later. They all stayed at one of the finest hotels South Korea has to offer. I'm very happy for his commitment for what I'm seeing in the training sessions and tonight I think he played a good game." The rest of the team is okay," he said. So the timing seems strange that when Spurs are about to add a third right wing-back to their squad, so Conte finally talked up the potential of playing Lucas in the position. "At the same time it is very important to in the moment you feel the fatigue to play a game like this. However, whenever quizzed about the possibility of playing Lucas in the role, Conte would always seem to swerve the subject. "At the same time today it was pleasing to see my team bring high pressure and to run. With the age-old Scotland-England rivalry, the Glasgow side are not going to go easy on their visitors from south of the border.
Spurs news: Former Tottenham man Erik Lamela came up against his old club during a pre-season friendly in South Korea on Saturday.
Spurs and Sevilla played out a feisty 1-1 draw in South Korea during their pre-season tour, with Lamela playing the first half against his former employers. He would later go on to be sent off in that game - his one and only red card in N17. His all-action, never-say-die mentality was there for all to see whenever he pulled on the Lilywhite shirt.
A 1-1 draw was played out during their preparations for the new campaign and Richarlison, Spurs' £50million signing, looked to make an instant impression.
Montiel had looked to tackle Ryan Sessegnon, but then ran into Son's body in the centre of the pitch. However, a new angle has since surfaced, and it appears to show Gomez swinging first in the middle of the unsightly melee before Richarlison then retaliated. The Ritiro can be a good thing, especially ahead of big games. That's like a rite of passage for him to go into a season. You're supposed to do it in three sections, but he made us do the whole thing. There were two people who were laughing and joking as they crossed the line. 'The next day we cycled there and ran up and down the mountain. He is a proven winner and Spurs will hope to profit down the line. Brede Hangeland described how Magath advised him to mix cream cheese with alcohol to soothe the pain of a dead leg. He also deploys what is known as the 'bell of shame' - which players must ring when they want to quit a running drill. 'We went to this mountain and rode bikes up it one morning, at 6am. And it transpires that would be a fair assessment. At least Ventrone didn't demand that Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries' be played over the public address system. Harry Kane collapsed onto his knees and forced himself to be sick.
