A sweet finish was nonetheless expected for the episode, and so, the remaining two finalists duked it out with their desserts.

At the end of the night, Chew won with a total of 76.5 points out of 90, beating Nares by just 1.5 points. Instead of competing with only one other contestant in the finals, Chew had to battle it out with two other home cooksโ a first for show's history. The 23-year-old dental student at the National University of Singapore (NUS) edged out two other contestants in the finals to win the title, as well as a number of prizes worth more than S$100,000.
