Wall will be making close to the veteran’s minimum in contract money after a handful of quarters. The issue is that right around when he signed it, the injuries began to pill on and he missed games. The contract that may not make the most sense would be the second-highest-paid player in 2022-23.

While the Clippers have handled their players well in this regard, they’ve also fallen on the side of poor fortune too. Jackson and Nicolas Batum both spring to mind, while Norman Powell and Robert Covington have both shown signs of improvement in this area too. Critics will likely point to his below-average shooting splits throughout his career, but the same could’ve been said about several of the Clippers’ recent additions who have gone on to become valuable members of the team.

The biggest issue for LA is likely to be one that’s lingered for the last couple of years. So this situation in Los Angeles with the Clippers might be the best scenario for Wall to make a complete comeback. If Wall can come in and be the primary ball-handler and playmaker, this could work out for the best. He gets most of the money he’s owed by Houston, and he gets to sing and play for a contender this year in the LA Clippers. Once he clears waivers, of course.
