On a demo of the group’s first hit, 2015’s “I Need U,” RM stretches to sing a sketched-out chorus, cracking and carrying on as if the real melody were somewhere just ahead. The standout here, though, is a new track, “Run BTS,” a lively hip-hop number backed by a wailing rock guitar that showcases the group’s power when all their unique qualities are harnessed together — and, notably, some of Suga’s most rapid-fire bars to date. Still, they kept running — to their first Korean Number One, to the top of the Billboard charts, and eventually to the world stage.

'Run BTS' is a perfect example of BTS’ versatility, it allows for the vocal unit (Jimin, V, Jungkook and Jin) to showcase their well-versed abilities, yet also suits the intricate rapping style of Suga. As an anthology album, 'Proof' allows fans to reminisce over BTS’ journey since their debut back in 2013, but it also allows fans to recall their own adventure and puts into perspective the meaning of the group to their own lives. Unofficially released back in July 2013, the track is the group expressing their emotions a month after their official debut. Disk three includes a plethora of demo tracks as well as three new singles 'Quotation Mark', 'Young Love' and 'For Youth'. Being described as a gift for their fans, the final disc of 'Proof' provides an insight into the production of some of ARMY’s favourite BTS tracks.

BTS Surpasses 2 Million 1st-Day Album Sales With Anthology ... (soompi)

BTS has once again become a double-million seller in just one day! On June 10, BTS released their new anthology album “Proof” at 1 p.m. KST.

BTS’s latest anthology album “Proof” features a compilation of the group’s past title tracks, various solo and unit songs, demo versions, unreleased songs, as well as three new tracks, “ Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment),” “Run BTS,” and “For Youth.” What’s especially notable about this achievement is that it isn’t far off from BTS’s second-highest first-week sales record of 2.27 million copies, which they achieved with their latest album “ BE (Deluxe Edition).” This record is bested only by BTS’s “ Map of the Soul: 7,” which sold 3.3 million copies in its first week. On June 10, BTS released their new anthology album “Proof” at 1 p.m. KST. According to Hanteo Chart, by 9 p.m. KST the same day, the group had sold over 2.15 million copies.

Everything We Know About BTS' New 2022 Album 'Proof' (grammy.com)

Later in 2022, BTS will release a three-part anthology of key tracks, new songs, and previously unreleased rarities. Here's everything to know about 'Proof.

The first disc begins with a remastered version of "Born Singer," from all the way back in 2013, which the press release describes as "BTS' candid emotions they felt after one month of their debut." 10." While this initially fueled speculation that a new album was coming, the release wound up materializing as Proof. Map Of The Soul: 7 marks BTS' first full-length project since their 2018 album, Love Yourself: Tear, which topped the Billboard 200 chart and solidified the group as the first Korean act to accomplish that record-setting feat. Last month (Feb. 21), BTS released the Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima, the first visual for "ON" that unfolds like a short film. BTS are back with another stunning music video off their newly released, chart-topping album Map Of The Soul: 7. With Proof, BTS managed to capture some of the most special moments of their career while adding new ones. Thinking back on how long the journey to recognition has been for the septet warrants a tear or two, and sharing the moment with fans makes it even more special. After a couple years of issuing radio-friendly hits, BTS chose to release a project that would mean something to the fans that have rooted for them over the years. The track highlights that special moment, providing an opportunity for BTS to respond in a poignant way. Most ARMYs know about the variety show BTS have been doing since 2015, "Run BTS, " in which they play games and do various activities as a group. BTS have catapulted to unprecedented levels of stardom in the two years since their last Korean release, BE. They became the first K-pop act to be nominated for a GRAMMY, broke countless chart and streaming records, and sold out stadiums across the globe. Just in time for the group's 9th anniversary, Proof features classic songs, unreleased gems, and three new songs for fans to enjoy.

Anthology Album Proof Tells Us Where BTS Has Been But ... (TIME)

To celebrate their 9th anniversary, BTS has released a 48-track anthology album.

In the track’s music video, we see the desert of their past littered with imagery from iconic songs and music videos: a blue train car from “Run,” an upright piano in reference to “First Love” and “Fake Love,” a carousel and pair of white sneakers from “Spring Day,” and a bright yellow school bus from the music video that started it all: “No More Dream.” The imagery is nostalgic and the lyrics are a return to form. It is high time for the group to release themselves from the burden of unattainable perfection, and bask in the glow of their own golden light. The album opens on the group in 2013, when the newly debuted “Bangtan Boys” are teens and 20-year-olds crackling with inchoate talent and a thirst to prove themselves. It’s a contrast that some fans may find unflattering to the group’s more recent releases: the latter feel glossier and calculated, lacking in the raw authenticity the group once exhibited in abundance. But as hard as the group tries to greet their past warmly, BTS ultimately remain preoccupied by a vision of what they might yet become, if only they keep running. The motif of running, especially across a desert barren of success, is a constant presence in their music and visuals.
