'Succession' Composer Nicholas Britell Enters the 'Star Wars ... (Variety)

Composer Nicholas Britell, Emmy winner for "Succession," is working on the music for "Andor," the next "Star Wars" TV series.

“The scope of the series is massive. Because there’s a lot of music in the series, we really jumped in, and that has continued to this day. Lucasfilm’s announcement yesterday said the series “will explore an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue. Everyone’s on the same page about having a specific set of soundscape textures, sound worlds, for this.” There’s a wide range of sounds, and I’ve created a lot of new sounds. How would Britell characterize his “Andor” music?

The teaser trailer for the new Star Wars series "Andor" looks pretty ... (Boing Boing)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5UX1Adanis I was already looking forward to Disney's Andor miniseries, focusing on Rogue One's token badass, Cassian Andor.

Will the Mouse neuter that a little bit? I was already looking forward to Disney's Andor miniseries, focusing on Rogue One's token badass, Cassian Andor. But the newly released teaser trailer makes me even more excited. Just as Rogue One leaned (gently) into the radicalization side of freedom fighting, Andor looks like it's not shying away from tackling colonialist oppression — in other words, the literal imperialism of the Imperial forces.

Andor Teaser Shows The Rebellion at Its Darkest Hour (CBR)

The first trailer for Disney+'s upcoming Andor has just arrived, and the first glimpses reveal Star Wars' Rebels at their darkest hour.

Getting to know more about the unsung heroes of the Rebellion can offer more depth to the conflict with the Empire. The success of Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie will presumably be built upon the backs of the people who work from the shadows in Andor. This is much different from the Star Wars most are used to: politicians in the Senate or Rebels fighting in space. The music throughout the teaser has a note of darkness to it. The trailer is full of intimidation and desperation, which is just the vibe that many fans wanted for the series. Andor has already been approved for a second season, and fans' reactions to the trailer prove that it was the right decision. The Star Wars universe continues to expand.
