Chris Hemsworth returns to the role of Thor in Marvel's 'Thor: Love and Thunder.' The trailer was released last night and sees the return of Natalie Portman ...
The worst part of the trailer? Second best part of the trailer? Best part of the trailer?
As frankly prophesized three years ago, this is essentially “Marvel stomps on Sony or Netflix's attempts to make a He-Man movie.”
It’s a little depressing that Thor would still be pining for Jane Foster (and apparently, she for him) 11 years after their first meeting, as you’d hope that both respective A+ dating specimens would have moved on. They can approximate other genres and even other franchises with unlimited financial resources and a built-in fanbase that A) will show up and B) will automatically hold MCU products in higher regard. Love & Thunder’s biggest commercial advantage is the mere fact that audiences who aren’t still obsessed with the MCU as a brand will still show up because they liked Thor: Ragnarök. How old-fashioned... Who cares if Sony and/or Netflix ever gets around to making a He-Man movie when you have both Thor: Ragnarök and now Thor: Love & Thunder? That’s no discredit to the folks who put it together, but it was one of those cases, like the first teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, where no one wanted to put a trailer out then and needed to cobble together 110-seconds worth of footage while saving most of the goodies for the next reveal. The first teaser for Thor: Love & Thunder, released in mid-April, was seemingly a capitulation to online fandoms demanding a trailer “right now.” It was frankly a halfhearted affair.
In the teaser we see Thor's initial reaction to Mjolnir, only for it to resist his pull and fly into Jane's fist, leading to the big reveal. The new Jane- ...
Regardless of whether the Blip will factor into the way Jane finds her powers, the MCU has been careful to show just how being Blipped has affected each and every character. Thor: Love and Thunder has the opportunity to use the Blip as a convenient way to explain Jane’s new abilities. In the trailer, Jane and Thor finally have a moment to talk after the battle that reunited them, and Jane brings up how long it’s been since they saw each other.
What happened to Thor's dad bod? Who is Christian Bale playing? We breakdown the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer.
Thor: Love and Thunder also seem to be bringing new cosmic characters to the MCU. Or at least the movie confirms these characters exist. The most precious moment of the new trailer shows Hemsworth entirely naked. First, the new trailer teases the relationship between Thor Odinson ( Chris Hemsworth) and the new God of Thunder, his ex-girlfriend Jane ( Natalie Portman). Then, we got the best look yet at the villain Gorr, the God Butcher (Christian Bale). Finally, the most exciting bit of them all, we almost get to see Hemsworth fully naked! While Gorr talks about killing every god, we get another look at the giant snow beat we saw in the first trailer. If Gorr can destroy entire planets with a single attack, he’s a threat to the whole universe and must be stopped at all costs. So, let’s break down all the key moments of Thor: Love and Thunder’s latest trailer and find out what new exciting things director Taika Waititi is bringing to the MCU. Each piece of the shattered hammer behaves just as the whole tool, flying away according to its owner’s will. Thor: Love and Thunder’s latest trailer also gives us a good look at Gorr, a villain who’s convinced all gods are selfish creatures who only bring pain to the people. While Gorr looks different in the comic books, the villain’s motivations remain the same in the new trailer. While Korg is sharing Thor’s legend, we get a new glimpse at New Asgard, the nation ruled by Queen Valkyrie ( Tessa Thompson). While New Asgard looked somewhat rural during the events of Avengers: Endgame, the country seems to have grown under Valkyrie’s ruling, becoming a great city and a touristic attraction. The trailer opens with everyone's favorite rock man Korg (voiced by Waititi), who’s spreading the word of Thor to a group of young blue aliens. While we still don’t know if the MCU version of Gorr will get his powers in the same way he got them in comic books, the movie version of the trailer is indeed powerful.

Thor: Love and Thunder is once again directed by Taika Waititi, who also directed Thor: Ragnarok. Waititi also served as co-writer for the new Thor movie, along with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Sweet/Vicious). Waititi likewise returns to voice the Fortnite-loving rock-person Korg. Along with the main cast from the Thor movies, Love and Thunder also includes all of the Guardians of the Galaxy, including Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, and the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. Marvel’s fourth Thor movie also brings in Russell Crowe as Zeus, the Greek god of thunder (and a lot of other stuff). The new trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder shows off more of Jane Foster’s Thor (Natalie Portman), Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, and, for the first time, Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher.
Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and Christian Bale face off in the first trailer for Taika Waititi's Ragnarok follow-up.
Marvel has previously teased fans with a series of photos of the film’s characters, most notably some clearer pics of certainly-not-Jane in full Thor regalia. It took a while, but Marvel Studios finally released the first teaser for Thor: Love And Thunder just over a month ago, introducing Thor fans—energized by both his recent team-ups with the Guardians Of The Galaxy and Taika Waititi’s franchise re-defining Thor: Ragnarok—to both the new status quo for the God Of Thunder (he has to reckon with a totally peaceful life where no god-hating villains will ever come to exterminate all gods!) and the mysterious new Thor, who wields a reforged Mjolnir and looks kind of familiar. (Shhh, we’re maintaining a nearly decade-old spoiler for the fans who want to be surprised.)
The first full trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder features a naked Thor (thanks to Zeus), Jane Foster snatching Mjolnir from Thor, Gorr the God Butcher on a ...
Expect to see all of the above, and, of course, Taika Waititi as Korg, when Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8th, 2022. So, who is holding the title of Mighty Thor, and what has Jane been doing for the last eight years, seven months, and six days? The first full trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has arrived, and somehow found a new angle on the journey of Chris Hemsworth’s titular hero.
Taika Waititi's 'Thor: Love and Thunder,' starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Christian Bale, has released its full trailer.
With Mjölnir in hand and some friends by his side, Thor is returning to the big screen in “ Thor: Love and Thunder,” coming to theaters on July 8. Thor enlists the help of Korg, Valkyrie and Foster in his mission and teams up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, which includes the fan-favorite Rocket Raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper, in addition to Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Karen Gillan reprising their roles. Starring Chris Hemsworth in the title role, it also features Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Waititi as Korg and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, in her first appearance in the MCU since 2013’s “Thor: The Dark World.”
Not long ago, sports fans and superhero fans were two very different types of people, each distrusting the other. But those days are long gone, ...
Coverage of the game between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics will begin at 8:30 pm EST and will air on Disney-owned network ABC. At this point, we don’t know when exactly during the game we’ll see the trailer released. Just this year, Marvel dropped trailers for both Moon Knight and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness during the Super Bowl. But those days are long gone, as demonstrated by not only the vast popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also by the fact that Disney uses sporting events to advertise its new offerings.
The new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer is here, and it brings us Christian Bale as terrifying bad guy Gorr the God-Butcher, Russell Crowe as Zeus, more Jane ...
He’s even wearing his costume from The Unworthy Thor era when he first sees her (and his King Thor suit when he exclaims “Jane?” in the trailer’s next shot). What does this have to do with the helmet? No idea who the third figure is in the background. Russell Crowe is clearly going to have the time of his life in this movie, ain’t he? ANYWAY, back to our guy…Gorr was created by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic in 2013, as part of the same Thor series that eventually introduced the Jane Foster Thor to official Marvel Comics continuity. Interestingly, this trailer puts to rest the theory that Jane could possibly be a variant from another timeline. On the other hand, you don’t bring Thor to Olympus and introduce Zeus unless you need some recognizable god to be butchered and establish Gorr as a credible threat. We’re still holding out hope that this movie also introduces the Marvel version of Hercules somehow. When his “prayers” were answered in the form of a powerful alien sword, he decided to take a, shall we say, proactive approach to getting the gods’ attention. But then we get the vibe shift at exactly one minute in, with the long-awaited introduction (and official first look at) Christian Bale as the film’s big villain, Gorr the God-Butcher. Why? Because Gorr is a being whose prayers were never answered, who lived a miserable, hard life, and whose family died of starvation and disease while he prayed for salvation. And the second Thor: Love and Thunder trailer?
Christian Bale is bringing the ick factor to 'Thor: Love and Thunder,' but Natalie Portman as the new God of Thunder is sure to spark things up.
The Inverse Analysis — Thor: Love and Thunder looks like it’s keeping up with the same comedic tones that 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok brought to the table and revitalized Thor as his own franchise. But at least Love and Thunder shows that Thor isn’t going away without a party. “The only thing gods care about is themselves,” Gorr says in the trailer. Just as Boston showed dominance in the second quarter, the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer similarly dominated Marvel fans’ senses. It’s also apparent Jane was dusted in the Blip, as she thinks only a few years have passed since she last saw her ex-boyfriend. (I’m too lazy to do the math but Thor’s quip about “eight years, seven months” sounds like the right amount of time between November 2013 and July 2022.)

To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who -- to Thor's surprise -- inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher's vengeance and stop him before it's too late." "But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher, who seeks the extinction of the gods. At some point, Thor faces Gorr the God Butcher, who lives up to his name.

The fourth solo Thor film in the franchise also stars Dave Bautista, Tessa Thompson, Chris Pratt and newcomer to the series Russell Crowe, who plays the God Zeus. It’s directed by Taika Waititi, who also directed 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok. And what a trailer it is – we see a lot more of stars Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman as they team up to defeat villain Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale, whom we also get a first glimpse at in the clip.
