We have a relatively tame landscape for gaming over the summer with only a few exceptions, and one of them may be V Rising, the new vampire survival game ...
But hunting animals (and now people!) and building giant vampire castles in a survival setting does sound extremely cool, so I understand the appeal, especially if as it seems, the gameplay elements live up to the concept. Rebuild your castle and convert humans into loyal servants in a quest to raise your vampire empire. Survival games are exceedingly popular with streamers given their dynamic nature and possibility of creative play and uh, “antics,” for lack of a better term.
When you first start a game in V Rising, you'll be asked to choose a server type. All servers are divided into PvE and PvP. In PvE servers, you can't attack ...

In V Rising, you need to keep your Castle Heart from decaying over time, or else your whole castle may end up out of control. Here's how Castle Heart Decay ...
If you see the words "Castle Heart Status: In Decay", then you should head back home and give your hungry Heart some Blood Essence to return it to full health as soon as possible. Without Blood Essence, the Castle Durability meter at the bottom of the Castle Heart window will start to decrease. And if a Castle Heart is in decay, the whole castle is vulnerable to attacks and even takeovers by other players. If you allow a Castle Heart to run out of Blood Essence, it will start to decay. If a Castle Heart isn't supplied with enough Blood Essence, it will start to decay. What is Castle Heart Decay in V Rising, and how does it work?

The boss that is relevant to making leather is Keely the Frost Archer, and survival game fans should select her and click on the "track blood" button below her portrait.

The aim is for V Rising to leave Early Access "within 12 months", with the final version having more of basically everything, including enemies, biomes, crafting recipes, weapons, and so on. This Early Access campaign will allow us to fine-tune V Rising and take the final steps in creating a genre-defining gem." Swedish developer Stunlock Studios was the team behind arena brawler Battlerite, and has brought some of that style of action to V Rising, making for a rare combination—a survival game with combat that doesn't suck.
V Rising is a gothic horror crafting/survival game with sharp combat, but way too much walking.
I can already tell that, like most survival/crafting games, the opportunity for griefing is massive, even on non-PvP servers, because of the way base-building works. Eventually you’ll learn to transform into a wolf to travel faster, then you’ll be able to ride horses to travel even faster, but the exercise never changes. In the early game you’ll start by crafting a workbench for making weapons and tools, a coffin to sleep in and respawn from, devices that produce mist to protect you from sunlight while inside your base, and all the machines you need for rendering wood into planks, copper into ingots, hide into leather, and blood into fuel. It’s a fun way to add vampire flavor, but all you can really do is take whatever random buffs come to you. Combat is fast, flashy, and Diablo-like. Most abilities are skill shots that work on cooldown, but they don’t require managing a stamina or mana resource, so you can stay in a fight for as long as you’re healthy. V Rising is as much of a survival/crafting game as it is an action RPG. Your goal is to build and expand a castle by collecting resources and taking on bosses of ever-increasing difficulty. You shouldn’t worry too much about your buffs either, because they’ll get replaced every time you feed, and you need to feed frequently in order to keep your hunger satiated. Even when you learn how to craft a teleporter that lets you tap into a network of teleporters throughout the map you’ll still be limited, as your inventory can’t teleport with you. The scent will lead you in a straight line towards the enemy, but you can’t travel that way. So far I’ve managed to craft a cloak that increases the time it takes to start burning when I step into sunlight by 15 percent, but that doesn’t really change my relationship with sunlight or make me feel like I’ve progressed past it being a problem. Where at first it presented interesting challenges that forced me to use my time wisely and plan when/where I go, It eventually started to feel like nothing more than an annoying hindrance on a timer. Traveling only gets harder as the sun rises in the sky, making the shadows smaller and harder to find.
The newly released V Rising comes with a plethora of materials, gear, and weapons you can use to further your Vampire cause. One of the key items in the ...
Explosives can also be used for mining which means you can get additional resources with ease to craft other items. Once you have access to the Alchemy Table you can craft explosives whenever you have enough materials. From there, you can then use the explosive in the game however you want.
In this guide, we explain how to heal in V Rising so that your vampire lord doesn't die to the many threats you'll encounter in this survival MMO.
This will require new weapons, which you can craft by learning how to find iron and how to find copper in V Rising. Fortunately, there are other ways to heal if you don't want to drain your Blood Pool. There are various salves and potions that you can craft to consume that will heal your character. You can make the Vermin Salve from the start of the game using the inventory crafting menu, but you'll also unlock other potions as you progress further and unlock more crafting stations. Be aware that if you select Blood Mend, it will make your character briefly stop and hover in place while they heal. This brings up a radial menu with various skills, including Blood Mend. While many of your blood abilities will only unlock as you progress further in V Rising, Blood Mend is available from the beginning. From poison plants to savage sunlight, you’ll lose health constantly as you explore and build in this survival MMO. If you die, you will lose almost all of your materials and items that you have in your inventory, which could mean hours are wasted on failed supply runs.

The Tannery is found under the Refinement tab of the Build menu and requires 8 Planks and 160 Animal Hide to craft. The first step to adding some leather to your inventory is to craft the Tannery station within your base. You can choose to track a boss from the menu, which will trigger a blood trail in the air that you can follow to reach the boss you're tracking. In order to gain access to the Tannery, you will need to kill Keely the Frost Archer boss. This lets players focus on the more important aspects of the game and less on smaller issues, such as trying to avoid the sun. However, as with most other materials in V Rising, the process of crafting leather isn't readily apparent in the early game.

Though the Steam page says you'll be able to "Make allies or enemies online or play solo offline," you currently have to be online even if you're playing alone on a server of one. It's our estimation that offline play should be available some time in the next couple of days, but may be earlier." Since launching in Early Access, as is traditional for survival games, the game about Dracula becoming a lumberjack to get enough wood to rebuild a castle shot up the Steam charts.

The gameplay is polished and the early access build seems to be fairly stable by all accounts. However, as with any new game, players are somewhat confused as ...
One of the best features of the map is that you can see which resources are available in the different areas of Vardoran, V Rising's world. This blood trail points in the direction that you need to go to find the boss you're tracking. You can see which blood type you currently are by hovering over the sphere of blood on your screen. After you start tracking a boss, you will see a blood trail start forming in the air. At the bottom of your screen, right in the center, there is a sphere with blood in it. One of the earliest tasks you have to complete in V Rising is crafting different kinds of gear. These bosses are able to be tracked, provided you meet the level requirement to take on the boss. For example, if you feed on a "Worker" type enemy, your blood type will change and increase the amount you gather and mine out in the world. Even if this means getting under a tree, you need to stay under any form of shade during the daytime hours. In most fiction, a vampire's main weakness is sunlight, and this remains true in V Rising. We've written a separate guide on the best ways to deal with the sun but essentially, you want to stay in the shade as much as possible. However, as with any new game, players are somewhat confused as to how to progress in the game. Although, they are important to learn and remember as players progress through the world of Vardoran.
