Their brother Quah Zheng Wen made it a hat-trick for the Quah family when he took gold in the 100m backstroke final with a time of 54.83. Jing Wen added another gold medal later on in the night when swum to victory in the 200m medley final in 2:15.98. Letitia Sim came in second for the silver in 2:16.61 to make it a one-two finish for Singapore in the event. Advertisement Ting Wen is unbeaten in the event in four editions of the Games, and touched home with a time of 55.60. In a commanding swim, Quah took the victory in the women’s 200m butterfly finals with a new SEA Games record of 2:09.52 at the My Dinh Water Sports Palace in Hanoi. Maximillian Ang bagged a silver in the men’s 100m breaststroke in 1:01.58, eclipsing the previous national record of 1:01.61 set by Lionel Khoo in 2018. At the previous edition of the Games in 2019, Team Singapore claimed 23 golds in the Philippines, matching their best-ever haul from 2015. The gold was awarded to Vietnam (3:21.81) with Indonesia second (3:24.09) and Thailand third (3:24.28). Quah has set the national record only last year, clocking 2:10.01 at the Dolfin Fran Crippen Pro Swim Meet Of Champions in California. The 21-year-old, a two-time defending champion in the event, finished ahead of Vietnam's My Thao Le Thi (2:14.20) and Thailand's Kamonchanok Kwanmuang (2:14.35).
