Chelsea player ratings vs Liverpool as Blues suffer FA Cup final ... (Football.London)

Chelsea and Liverpool once again went to penalties to decide the match and the outcome was the same.

The 23-year-old appeared to create every Chelsea chance in the opening period and despite not having a great deal of the ball showed he was ready to make an impact. Alisson first saved from the Spaniard when Pulisic waited too long to release his teammate and Alonso put a shot wide in the opening minute of the second half. Covered plenty of the Wembley pitch to ensure he was always involved in attack in defence and showed his ability to keep the ball in tight spaces. Struggled to dominate the midfield in the early stages during his unexpected start but still managed an excellent tackle on Sadio Mane outside the Chelsea box to show he was still up to speed albeit not entirely in his groove. Typically composed against a challenging Liverpool frontline and even showed a turn of pace to slow Diaz in his tracks late in the second period. Diaz had plenty of joy exploiting the space between Chalobah and James in the opening 15 minutes of the match but the former Lorient loanee provided a crucial clearance by the Chelsea goal-line and performed better when attacking the ball early.
