AC Milan Primavera continue to be in the 14th position in the league standings after the Derby today, which ended in a 2-2 result.
Despite having to play against an Inter side enjoying the lead and a numerical superiority, Gabriele El Hilali finally scored the equaliser. After Marco Nasti’s goal in the 17th minute. As usual, Milan took the lead.
A valiant display from the Rossoneri, who rescue a late point despite being down to ten men.
Foglio had a headed effort as AC Milan looked to respond; however, the Nerazzurri then went in front thanks to a goal from Fabbian (58’). Coach Terni shook things up - Marshage was sent on for his Primavera debut - and, in the 73rd minute, two substitutes combined to create a big opportunity: El Hilali picked out Traorè, whose effort was deflected inches wide. Nasti had another chance shortly afterwards, before the Rossoneri were reduced to ten men following a second booking for Bosisio. However, AC Milan kept believing and grabbed an equaliser after 89 minutes: a low strike from El Hilali took a deflection and beat Botis. Nasti and Fabbian had a chance each to win it for their respective sides in added time, but the derby ultimately ended in a draw. All in all, it was a positive display from AC Milan - especially in the first half - and the result will surely give the side a real confidence boost, which was very much needed as the season draws to a close. It was a thrilling encounter, with the Rossoneri opening the scoring after 17 minutes through Nasti (his 15th goal of the season) before seeing their lead evaporate at the start of the second half. Then, in the 37th minute, Lazetić won possession high up the pitch and found Foglio, who was thwarted by Botis’ fists. With 29 minutes on the clock, Nasti came close to making it two with a shot across goal that skimmed past the far post.
RedBird Capital Partners - shareholders in Liverpool owners FSG - remain in the race to take over at Italian giants AC Milan.
AC Milan currently lead Serie A by two points with two games to play. Their investment into FSG has already helped increase the value of the overall operation to $750m investment now worth around $1bn. They have also achieved European football success, their purchase of French side Toulouse two years ago following relegation having been a positive experience, with Les Violets returning to Ligue 1, French football's top tier last month. Investcorp are ready to put in €800m in equity, shared with American fund Ares Capital, while the rest of the money will arrive in the form of a loan, either from a bank, with Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan among those linked, or family wealth from the Persian Gulf.
