"Office Ladies" hosts Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey chatted with John Krasinski about directing the Season 6 episode of "The Office," "Sabre."
"Directing this episode was so very special, and I will truly never forget it." "I just remember with the big story changes that were happening in the show, I was so nervous to be the one to introduce those two characters," he said. I mean, I was a waiter before I got the show. "At the end of the day, I think that directing that episode was a much bigger deal than I even understood or imagined than in that moment, because the truth is, directing is terrifying," he said. Truly. I mean, I think it was something that I was really excited to experiment with on our show, but never thought that I'd go much further than that in trying to direct anything else." He was so reserved and this brand new instrument that we had to play with on the show. Then, when The Office was over, he directed a movie called The Hollars and of course, A Quiet Place." "But I remember introducing that character and knowing that, I don't know, feeling a big responsibility that that character was going to be a big part of the show. "Introducing Kathy Bates, which was so mind-blowing — that Kathy Bates was not only on our show, but that I was her first experience [on the show] as a director, and for that, I will always be apologetic to her," Krasinski said. "What was it like directing 'Sabre'? It was a dream. "I remember this from the time we did the pilot. As for John, he said directing this episode was "a dream."
Actor John Krasinski recently admitted that he was terrified during his directorial debut episode of the NBC smash hit sitcom, The Office.
Although Krasinski describes how he allowed the cast to perform the material in their own way, refraining from any notes of instruction, Kinsey recalled that the actor was a "natural" in the role. The actor explained that he was excited about the challenge as he had never directed an episode of television before, but was terrified due to the fact that he had to direct his friends. Although Krasinski is most known for his work on the sitcom, he has further made a name for himself behind the camera. In 2010, Krasinski jumped at the challenge to direct his very first episode of television with The Office's season 6 episode 15 "Sabre," the 115th episode of the show. "What was it like directing 'Sabre'? It was a dream. During an episode of the Office Ladies podcast (via Mashable), Fischer and Angela Kinsey — who played accountant Angela Martin — reminisced about the episode "Sabre." Although Krasinski could not join in on the podcast, he provided a recorded message reflecting on his time directing the episode.
Krasinki directed three episodes during his time on the long-running NBC series.
“Directing this episode was so very special, and I will truly never forget it.” “What was it like directing ‘Sabre’? It was a dream. I was somehow lucky enough to drop right into the most immense pool of talent that I could ever ask for.” “I personally was terrified, because I had to direct all of you. Krasinski recently sat down with the Office Ladies podcast, hosted by former co-stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, to chat about his experience directing his first episode of The Office. I had zero experience in this business in anything—acting, writing, directing, producing, any of that stuff,” Krasinski says on the podcast, per Mashable. “And there it was, right in front of me.
John Krasinski is a fan-favorite for Reed Richards in the MCU's Fantastic Four movie and it's easy to see why in this incredible image.
It’s unknown if John Krasinski will play Reed Richards in the MCU simply because the role has yet to be cast. But will Krasinski take on the part in the MCU? In doing so, they will aim to prove that the characters can be involved in a truly great cinematic adventure.
After meeting the Illuminati on Earth-838, will Doctor Strange form his own team now that incursions are a threat?
What candidates Strange will consider for this theoretical Illuminati of Earth-616 remains to be determined. After Multiverse of Madness teaches Strange about the destruction incursions can cause, it’s possible he could form his own Illuminati to prevent them. Perhaps meeting the Illuminati on Earth-838 has given Doctor Strange of Earth-616 ideas. In the comics, the Illuminati are a secret group of intellectuals and leaders of their respective superhero groups, each a major part of Marvel’s expansive universe. The Illuminati met and worked in secret, unknown to even their allies. For Multiverse of Madness, yes, Krasinski is Reed Richards. But this doesn’t cement Krasinski as the star of Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.
