In Mineral and Mining Engineering, IIT Kharagpur has got a rank of 37, and IIT Bombay was placed at 39th globally, as per the QS Rankings.

IIT D’s civil engineering was ranked in the 51-100 bracket. The IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad have found a place among top 100 ranks in the Business and Management streams. While Electrical Engineering programme was placed at 56th rank, its Mechanical Engineering program was at 64th place and computer science was at 65th position globally.

The University of Delhi ranks 41st for de- velopment studies. The institute has found place in Top-100 in civil and structural engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, computer science and mechanical engineering. The 2022 Rankings show five programmes at public IoE have broken into the Top-100 positions, with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) jumping from 113th to 98th in mechanical engineering and bagging the 91st position (from 112th earlier) in physics and astronomy.

“The third-best national rank is achieved by Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) in Petroleum Engineering, while two more universities break into the top 30 — UM (28th for globally in Library and Information Management) and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) (28th for globally in Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies),” Sowter said. It is followed by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (25 subjects), Universiti Putra Malaysia (24 subjects), Universiti Sains Malaysia (24 subjects) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (17 subjects). “Malaysia is fifth in Asia for the number of ranked programmes — 207 (25 more than last year) and sixth for the number of ranked universities — 24 (four more than last year),” said Ben Sowter, Director of Research at QS, in a statement today.
