It was an epic turnaround and a fitting end to one of the greatest NCAA tournaments. Regardless, Davis is going to need something from his newcomers, a pair of top-50 prospects in Seth Trimble and Jalen Washington. How big a role they have right off the bat will be determined by whether the current stars stay or go. He was dominant on the glass as well, recording two double-doubles while coming up just one point and one rebound shy of a third against Memphis. Holmgren also flashed some confidence as a ball-handler and knocked down a couple of jumpers that made you see why he's in consideration for the top pick. His agility at his size made for a mismatch any time bigs tried to defend him on the perimeter.

The Jayhawks were one of the subjects of the FBI’s investigation into corruption in college basketball that first became public in September 2017. But now, the end finally appears in sight, and it could impact the national champions. The NCAA’s follow-through on the findings of that investigation has been so slow that even NCAA President Mark Emmert admitted last week that the process had dragged on too long.
