West Ham vs Everton: Player ratings and analysis as Bowen winner ... (iNews)

Mason Holgate had cancelled out Aaron Cresswell's peach of a free kick before Jarrod Bowen secured a win which piled the pressure on relegation-threatened ...

“We are not in the relegation zone but we are not stupid, we are close and we have to win games.” “We’ll take that into Thursday night and then every game following on.” The win put further pressure on Everton, something goalscorer Mason Holgate made clear in his post-match interview. Those circumstances included the injury to Van de Beek in the warm-up and Richarlison’s profilgacy in front of goal. We have the main course coming up on Thursday and hopefully we can be quicker and sharper.” Jarrod Bowen, scorer of what proved to be the winning goal, concurred, saying that the Hammers would take confidence from the win into Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final against Lyon. “There’s seven games left in the Prem and then Europe as well,” he said. “A great thing is winning games of football and we want to do that in every game to get confidence. West Ham manager David Moyes was in good spirits after the win, telling Sky Sports: “It was a really good win and I thought the players did a really good job.

'Three reasons' - Simon Jordan makes Everton prediction and blasts ... (Liverpool Echo)

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan insists Everton will avoid relegation this season.

I think Everton will stay up by default because the other three teams are so poor.” “West Ham, for the first 15-20 minutes of the second half, did their level best to make it as easy for Everton as they possibly could,” Jordan added. And former Crystal Palace chairman Jordan believes that Everton ’s Premier League status for next season is already assured due to the standard of the club’s relegation rivals.

Everton face a must-win match against Burnley this week - defeat will leave them up against Premier League survival with Man Utd, Leicester, Liverpool and ...

I do still think they can avoid the drop but it might not be until matchday 37 or 38 at this rate, and no one at the club will want to risk leaving it until then. Lampard might be saying other things behind closed doors but fans aren’t daft and sometimes they need to hear the truth. I want to be unambiguous about this and say I hope Lampard, just like Steven Gerrard, has a long and successful career in management, not least because it’s important for fellow English managers but because I like him as well.

Alex Iwobi was not why Everton lost to West Ham (Royal Blue Mersey)

Frank Lampard must have sensed the impending criticism of Alex Iwobi when he expressed a hope in his post match analysis that his player would not be ...

I, for one, will be hoping to see more of the endeavour and “bottle” that Iwobi displayed on Sunday in the upcoming games. The last thing Iwobi needs (and we as supporters need as he WILL get selected) is for that brittle confidence to be shattered further. Yesterday, in spite of the supporting words, Iwobi took the merciless criticism on his shoulders for one mistake that led to the winning goal for West Ham. Little mention was made of the perfect through balls from Iwobi to give Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin clear chances which were completely fluffed.
