Go on the new Sentosa Heritage Trail to relive some of the personal memories you have had with your children, or take your older relatives on a walk. Not too long ago, most of us took the ferry to Sentosa! Fast forward to the 1970s, Sentosa was transformed to be a leisure destination. The exhibits have motion sensors to play audio commentaries of some of the artillery emplacements. These trail markers are the best way to do the self-guided trail with your family. Between 1878 and 1967, many British, Indian and Australian soldiers were housed in barracks and quarters around the island.

To enjoy the trail at their own pace, visitors can utilise a brochure containing the map and routes as well as a companion guide, which includes stories of the island’s early days as a leisure destination. Before setting off on the trail routes, visitors can download a copy of the companion guide and map, which is available in four languages from early April, via NHB’s heritage portal or Sentosa’s website. Coupled with a companion guide and heritage trail markers placed along the routes, visitors to the island will be taken through the island’s past and present.
