Others not called upon included PAP MPs Edward Chia, Louis Ng, Melvin Yong, Yeo Wan Ling as well as Workers' Party MP Leon Perera and Nominated MP Janet Ang. "As the Chair of the Committee of Supply (COS), I will continue to ensure that the proceedings in the COS is undertaken in a fair and orderly manner," Mr Tan said using the formal name for the debates. Mr Tan had on Monday explained the process for the debates and that it was his duty to enforce the cut-off times for the proceedings, but despite this Mr Leong had proceeded to put up a video and post that impugned the Speaker and the process of Parliament, added Mr Zaqy. Earlier on Tuesday, Mr Tan made a statement in the House that MPs were informed of the cut-off time for MOM last Thursday, and again on Monday in Parliament's Daily Working Paper. He noted that 30.5 minutes were allotted for clarifications, but that he had allowed the debate to continue for 48 minutes till the cut-off time of 12.40pm. On Tuesday morning, Mr Zaqy said that Mr Leong had in his social media posts impugned Speaker Tan Chuan-Jin and the process of Parliament, and also misrepresented how the debate proceedings for MOM were ended on Monday. "Today, I would like to sincerely and unreservedly apologise to the Speaker and this House for my Facebook comments of 12.52pm and 12.53pm on March 7, 2022, and the video I posted at 6.55pm on March 7, 2022," he said.
NCMP Leong Mun Wai "sincerely and unreservedly" has apologised for his Facebook posts and comments that impugned Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin.

SINGAPORE — Mr Leong Mun Wai of the Progress Singapore Party (PSP) has apologised for the social media posts he published that was said to have “impugned” ...
“And in this year’s (Committee of Supply debate), more than 600 cuts were filed. in which I impugned the Speaker and the processes of Parliament.” We’re looking at more than 50 hours of debate. His request was denied by Mr Tan, because the cut-off time to ask questions had been reached. He added that he undertakes not to repeat them again. The Non-Constituency Member of Parliament’s apology came at the end of parliamentary proceedings on Tuesday (March 8) evening.
Zaqy said Leong's remarks breached the Parliament (Privileges, Immunities and Powers) Act.
It is standard parliamentary procedure that when the time is allotted to the ministry ends, Speaker will require that the votes on that ministry be taken and the debate moved to the next ministry, even if some MPs questions have not been answered. Specifically for the Ministry of Manpower debate, questions from several MPs could not be answered because the allotted time was up. As the chair of the Committee of Supply, I will continue to ensure that the proceedings in the COS is undertaken in a fair and orderly manner." I acknowledge that I had not set up all the facts in my posts, and thus gave a misleading impression. And this is by suggesting that you could have called on Mr Leong but deliberately did not do so for improper reasons. Every MP is given the same amount of time and the guillotine time for each ministry is announced ahead of time and based on the MPs who have filed to speak.
